This is a great little desklamp which is very useful when you have multiple places you need to have light. OttLite has an excellent reputation and this lamp has lived up to it so far. I chose this model because it is rechargeable and easily portable and so far I am very happy with it. it is easy to accidently turn it on when moving it, but it is just as easy to turn it off again, so that does not bother me.

Update: 11.29.2024: bought in late 2020. Currently still using this light, still in great condition, no battery issues noted so far. Granted, we’ve used it rather sparingly, but it’s great when we need it! We’re about to buy another one for our mother who enjoys coloring to pass the time, but who also has eye challenges, and we think it would be helpful to her in any power outages. Great for puzzles and playing games in a space that’s not lit well to begin with (or when my eyes are already strained for the day), especially during a power outage when there’s not much else to do. Update 12.13.2021: still loving this lamp and updating to note that when the power goes out, this lamp stays on! I hadn’t thought about it before our power went out one evening and it was real nice to have a light stay on! It has also been handy to unplug and move to another location temporarily. I should probably leave it unplugged more often to maintain the battery life better though; or plug it into a timer. Original review: This daylight lamp provides great lighting for a specific area, like a desk or an end table next to a reading chair. I was pleasantly surprised by the feel and appearance of the lamp itself. Somehow I didn’t anticipate it being this nice. It is possible to use it cord free for a period of time, but I’m not using that feature for this particular one and don’t plan to. Therefore, I kinda wish I could remove the battery so it wouldn’t be entirely wasted. Still, it’s a potentially great feature for some people! Overall I’m very pleased with this lamp. It’s smaller than what I was using, much prettier, and provides plenty of light while I work on my laptop or read.

I love this light!! It's so versatile, and easy to use with adjustable brightness. I use this convenient, portable light all the time. If I need it for longer than 2 hours, then I just plug it in. I mostly plug it in about once a week to charge. I took up painting a few years ago and so many people were raving about the Ott light. I already had a desk lamp--so I didn't think I needed a "pricey" Ott light. Boy, was I wrong! I finally decided to get one for better natural lighting for painting and other tasks. I love this light. I use it ALL the time--not just to paint. -- The touch feature is awesome! You barely need to touch it! Touch 1, 2 or 3 times to turn on and increase the brightness. 4th time to torn off. How cool is that? -- I use it anytime I need a little extra lighting or don't want to turn all the recessed lights on in a room. -- A cordless light is so handy. Better than a flashlight because you can use it hands-free. -- I love how light it is and that I can easily pick it up and take it into any room or place it on any surface. -- The gooseneck design is also very cool with a stable base. I would sometimes knock over my desk lamp which was very annoying. -- You can easily adjust the angle of the light--this is a so very handy. -- 10 Stars!!

Beautiful compact bright light.

Great little light. Plenty bright for reading. Rechargeable battery thus wireless applications make it very convenient. The battery (on bright setting) lasts a little over an hour.

I bought this for my wife who wanted a portable light. She likes the way it looks and it puts out a decent amount of light. The only drawback is the battery. It doesn't last very long on the highest setting which means you need to keep it plugged in if using it for an extended period. As a desk lamp it would be excellent.
