Over the years I've heard about the benefits of yoga and in years past I tried to get into it. In my previous attempt I bought the typical 4mm gaiam mat and had a horrible experience with it sticking to my feet, sliding everywhere and it smelled to high heaven. Needless to say, when I started contemplating yoga again I wasn't even sure if I wanted a mat because I am practicing at home on a carpeted surface. However, I found that it was difficult to keep myself from sliding in positions like down dog and knew I needed something to help.I decided to give this mat a try since it was eco-friendly and a little larger than the typical mat which I found to be a bit too small for me. I was apprehensive about ordering online because so many other mats had reviews about odor problems and weird substances being all over them. I was pleasantly surprised with this one!It comes in a nice carrying case with the optional string carrier at a good value. The mat itself rolled out easily and pretty much laid flat on the first use (with the exception of the part that was curled the tightest in the package) and I suspect with a little time it will lay completely flat without problems. It provides plenty of grip for your hands without being sticky or sounding like your feet are suction cupped to it. The bottom also doesn't slide around on a carpeted surface. The mat itself barely has an odor, which I was only able to detect during the moments that I was in child's pose and basically taking a big whiff of the mat. All in all, a great buy!TLDR: Barely an odor, doesn't slip on carpet, plenty of grip without being sticky and lays nicely. Looks great too! Buy it!

Overall, a decent yoga mat. I practice around 4-5x per week and was looking for a comfortable, non-slip mat. This one is comfortable and it's about 80% non-slip; it's not perfect, but it's good enough for most scenarios (it actually has better grip the sweatier your hands are). And, for someone who has been practicing for awhile, I was surprised with how useful I found the lines for alignment.Two things that I thought could be better .... First, it came with some imperfections on the mat, which is annoying since I bought it new. It looks like there are places it got melted. They aren't big, but they make the mat slippery in places it shouldn't be, not to mention it makes the mat look cheap. Second, it comes in a bag it will never go back into. A strap would be nice (it doesn't say say it comes with one, I just think it would be a convenient addition).If I were to go back, I would probably spend the extra $$ to get a top-of-the-line mat and use it until it fell apart. As it stands, I'll be "stuck" with this one, which is just good enough.

I didn't like the berry color at first, so I used the pastel pink side, which I like better than any other color I could imagine during winter, spring, and summer. It has not soiled at all! The last mat I had soiled more easily. Now that it's autumn, I am using the berry side of the mat (season makes all the difference in how appealing the color is!). I just switched workouts and find that the line down the center of the mat helps me to align my movements correctly so I don't put pressure on my back, so that has been very helpful. It is the perfect thickness. I usually have to use a pillow for certain moves that rest my wt on my hip but a pillow is not needed with this mat and that keeps my alignment healthier. It has been a good purchase - highly recommended!UPDATE: the only drawback is that it does slide all over the floor during my aerobic workout, which I didn't have with my previous mat, but wasn't doing the same workout and that might be the case with any mat, and since I work out alone, it's not a big deal. It is used on carpet.

For the price, this mat is excellent. I used to do yoga much more regularly and had invested in a nice mat that I let my mom adopt as my practice started to dwindle over the years. I recently decided to get back into yoga so I gave this one a shot based on the reviews. The grip on this mat is great for people who get sweaty palms and feet during more intense practices, the mat itself doesn’t easily slide on smooth ground, it’s very lightweight and the little carrying bag and strap is a nice convenience. This mat does have some stretch to it, which can make a good downward dog or triangle pose more challenging, and it seems to be a little absorptive and harder to clean than my old mat. Overall, worth my money and may be a great starter mat for someone who might not be sure if yoga is something they will stick with.

I really like this mat. It's not quite as cushiony as I was hoping for but I use extra pads under my palms and knees anyways so it's not an issue for me. The line down the center is perfect to help me get into and stay in the correct positions. The size is perfect. The bag was a little frayed at the top where the drawstring comes together but nothing that I couldn't snip off without any issues. I ended up using the bag for my old mat that I keep at my bf's house as I had previously purchased a different bag on amazon that I'm in love with and this mat just fits into that bag.

This is a nice, slightly oversized mat. I am happy with the color I ordered and it is comfortable. I like the guiding line down the middle. I was willing to pay more for this mat because it comes with a carrying case. I am giving this mat a 3 rather than a 5 because it does not fit into the carrying case. Do not buy if you think you're going to get a durable carrying case you can use for carrying the mat in. My old, smaller mat fits it the case just fine. I doubt the case will last long given the material it is made of. But again, nice mat--so I will keep.

This new mat replaced the mat I’ve had for years. Wow! Didn’t realize how slick the old mat was until I used this one. It’s definitely more sticky and easier to keep my hands and feet planted. I like the line down the center to help keep me more centered on the mat. And the few extra inches of length and width really makes a difference. Like other reviews, I found the carrying bag to be too small, so I just used my carrying straps from the old mat. Only 4 stars because of the carrying bag.

Super light and easy to carry around. I use it with the yoga ball and it can help to stay the ball on top. It's thicker then the one I have originally and also firmly sticking on the floor without moving easily when exercise on top on the Matt. Good materials and no smell like others.

Really good quality.. Gives great grip and works well on wood floors too. I use it for my daily yoga and abs workout and its just worked best for me. Very comfortable and cushy. Color is just like shown on the site. Great quality at affordable price. Recommended !!

Good quality yoga mat. Quite thick and a good length. Enjoyed the yoga session. Comes with a bag, which makes it’s easier to carry around and great quality for the price.

I'm satisfied with the product quality, and find the printed centre line is very helpful when practicing some poses for beginners.

So far it's been great, not thick but definitely comfortable
