Tramex Moisture Encounter ME5 | Pinless Meter for Measuring Moisture Content in Wood, Drywall & Building Materials

I needed the ME 5 for a job in two days! I got the ME 5 in one day for my job! I do expert witness work and needed the same meter the other side expert was using I had an older version of the Tramex ME, which worked, but I wanted to have the exact meter to help dispute some of the other expert's findings, which I was able to do! It is an easy-to-use and accurate meter that anyone who performs moisture-related inspections needs to have! The Bluetooth feature with the app on your smartphone is a huge benifit!

If you have the need for this for use for work or some sort of legit results that you can stand by, then this is awesome. Too expensive for a random homeowner, but I use this quite a bit for home inspections. It is simple, and to the point and I like that. Works great and the case is solid to fit in my bag of tools and not get damaged.

Great moisture tool for a many different requirements. It's pricey, but in the end, it produces a consistent result, which is important depending upon the reason for purchase (such as a business).

Its an updated more high tech version of the old one we have had for 20 years. Im sure this one will last just as long especially since it appears to be water resistant.

The repeatability of the unit is poor. I marked off a known dry location and find that when I retest the same location I get significant variation in readout. Tested floor samples with and without visible moisture damage and find the results erratic as well, even when testing the same sample. I expected more from a $500 sensor.Would not recommend purchasing this unit.

The unit is the #1 used metering tool I have in my box of many. Tramex has got the Ideal tool for covering large areas of metering quickly.
