Not for Small Animals
We got these for our rabbit even though they're technically for horses, because they're made of things that the rabbit can have as well. We were giving them to him every night as his dinner, which he loved! But we soon noticed that he was getting a bit addicted to them, so we had to stop giving them to him altogether because he straight up was not willing to eat anything else. He got a little sick, where he wasn't eating his normal hay or his nutritional pellets. We stopped giving him these biscuits and focused on his healthy foods and he's doing fine now. Honestly, it's likely our fault for giving a small animal a treat made for a large animal, so I will give this product five stars. I'm sure it's perfectly fine to give to horses, as our rabbit didn't have any issue with them health-wise. I am doubtful that a horse would have gotten so addicted to them, but our rabbit did because he is so much smaller and these treats have a disproportional amount of natural sugars in them. So, I wouldn't recommend giving these to small animals. Stick to giving them to horses, as they were designed to be.

Best horse treats on the planet!
I no longer gave horses, but I've bought Mrs. Pastures Horse Cookies for years. More years then I can count. They were my mare's absolute favorite treat of all time, so when I was asked to horse sit for my neighbor's horses and had the chance to ride a friend's mare, I knew I needed to get these treats. I'm happy to say all the horses absolutely adored them. Paddy, who can be picky about his treats, ate these first. Khemo inhaled them and seemed to find the crunch very satisfying. He looked for more after he ate them. My friend's horse, Tilly Mae, was the cutest with these. Her mom is not a treat giver so it was the first time she had a treat. Tilly took one, rolled it in her mouth, took a bite and her eyes got huge at the cruch. She was not expecting it. Lol Once she got over the initial shock, she fell in love with them, so now she's a total begger. I feel like my job here is done! I'm happy to say that even decades apart, my horses of the past and my horse friends of today all love these treats!

My horses love these
My elderly horse was starting downhill and I wanted to spoil her more than she was already. Our feed store was continually out of the treats she liked, and I was desperate to find oatmeal-molasses ones. When these arrived (promptly), I was skeptical -- skeptical that all three horses would like them, that my older horse would be able to chew them, that introducing them would cause gastric problems. Nope. All three horses loved them. Even though my old mare sadly is gone, I know she went happily. She found these so delicious and easy to chew that she got more than she should have her last few days. The two younger horses are addicted and nicker loudly, neigh -- sorry, couldn't resist -- bellow for them. How these two rascals can hear that lid opening is beyond me. By the way, these do come in a jar so very, very few of them break during shipping. I think the jar and lid keep them fresher, too, and if you have problems with racoons in your barn, and keep wildlife out. The jars are so sturdy that I am saving them for other uses, such as for storing nails and small tools. If your horse is fussy, or even if not, I recommend these. I had 3 different horses on 3 different kinds of feed, BUT ONLY ONE TYPE OF TREAT. These!
