GOOD VALUE BENCH SHARPENER
A VERY useful alternative to dremel style charpeners. This is a 110v plug in machine. If you carefully follow the setup instructions, the machine will sharpen UNIFORMLY and easily. The instruction manual sets out in detail how to set up the machine. Comes with 2 grinding wheels. ***Now for the downside: Professional chain sharpening machines work like this one, but use 5 1/2 inch grinding wheels, which are much more common than the 4 1/4 inch that this machine uses. Difficult to find diamond sharpening wheels in that size. The above machine has mostly plastic parts although it is sturdy plastic and works nicely. The professional ones are all metal, but you pay for it.All in all, this is a good machine and i am well satisfied with it.

Good unit
Works well once you get it set up. Some of the direction details are not clear and don’t necessarily fit the model. With use you learn how to make it work well.

Efficient and User-Friendly Chainsaw Sharpener
Setting up this sharpener may require some patience, but the results are worth it. Unlike hand filing or Dremel sharpening stones, it offers a much faster and less tiring sharpening experience. While not as precise as high-end models like Timberline, it still does a commendable job once you get the hang of it. Just remember to inspect each tooth as you sharpen to ensure a clean and sharp finish. With a bit of practice, this sharpener becomes a valuable tool in your maintenance routine. Highly recommend for its efficiency and time-saving benefits.

Don't be stubborn, like me
I have been living in a forest, and using firewood here in MT, for 17 years. I enjoy cutting my own logs into rounds, splitting them, stacking them, and burning them. I was aware of chain saws before this, but by no means an expert. About 15 years ago, I bought a Harbor Freight grinder/sharpener, for probably $40. It was 'ok' for setting the edge of the cutters, but not much else. It is also fairly loose, so every grind isn't the same as the next. I mostly used a Dremel with grinding bits to 'touch up' the cutters.I finally broke down and got this grinder. I knew it was recognized as the best in the business, but didn't want to spend almost $300. Well, it is on sale now for $200. I made the choice and ordered it. It came today.Took me about 45 minutes to make a stand and get it set up. The instructions are 'ok', but I was confused how things 'moved' at first. Got it figured out. Setup for the angles is simple, just follow the chart. After setting it up, I began to grind the chain I had been using. After the first cutter, I was shocked at the difference in the cutting edges. I had been nowhere close to the right angles. It took a lot off the cutters, since things were so messed up, but that will change with subsequent sharpenings. I haven't set the rakers yet, that will be tomorrow, but I already know they are close.Took the sharpened chain out with my Husky Rancher and tried a log. It practically fell through the wood. I feel I was using half the pressure to guide the bar, and without timing before and after, I also feel it cut 40% faster. The difference in chips was obvious, as the new chips were sitting on top of the 'sawdust' I had been making before. This is a quality product, at a good price now, and well worth the expense. I just wish I had ordered it before I did the first 2 of 6 cords I need to cut for winter. The next 4 will go much quicker.

For a mid range priced sharpener,it works very well.
Bought this grinder to sharpen chainsaw chains. Why else would I buy it. It works very well and I like the consistency of the sharpened chains. Pretty easy to set up and use once you understand the various angles of a chainsaw cutting tooth.
