J. is the man. What a great breakdown of theory. Being classically trained in music this was familiar to me in a world of mostly non-traditionalist music producers.

Amazing book, perfect purchase for someone wanting to get into theory. Especially wonderful for ableton users! Highly recommend

This book is easy to follow and understand with examples easy enough to follow in any piano roll. This book covers the basics in a structured and methodical series allowing the reader to build on material covered in previous chapters. I would recommend this book to anyone new to music theory or anyone who wants a refresher on the core concepts of theory. Well worth the read.

A must have book for anyone who wants to start electronic music production. Very well written, clear, and concise book. Music theory seems daunting but this book makes it really easy to understand.

This book contains just enough material to give novice producers an edge. It is an arguably solid introduction to music theory.However, there are numerous technical errors throughout the text that distract from the concepts being taught. Ultimately these errors may not inhibit the reader from learning, but it is frustratingly time consuming to identify and correct these errors on one's own. It is disappointing that these sorts of errors slipped through the editing process. If it were not for some prior knowledge of music theory I would likely not have been able to identify the errors.Due to the length of this text and the poor quality imbued by the numerous errors, I would not recommend someone pay $25 for the Kindle version, let alone the price of the physical text. Look elsewhere for a focused and well edited text.

For the cost of the text, I was expecting a textbook. The book is written for beginners and I'm rather disappointed in the amount of information that is beyond basic music theory.

Content is Easy to follow. It Covers majority of music concepts. Good analysis of various songs. Great resource who for EDM folks
