A simple and reasonably-priced solution.
I purchased this for my aging father who had difficulty getting up from the couch. It came 99% assembled, was light but sturdy enough for what we needed. My father is very happy and uses it everyday. He particularly likes the fact that, at the lowest height, the handles are almost flushed with the couch bottom cushions and do not "box him in". I think the product picture with the lady in pink shows the handles raised at the highest level. At this setting, I am not sure if the back part of the unit (that is supposed to go down between the bottom and back cushions behind the person sitting) would stick up too much to be comfortable? This "issue" is irrelevant for our application because my father does not need to use it to help him sit down, only to stand up from the couch. Just something to know.We are happy with the unit and would recommend it. A simple and reasonably-priced solution to a common problem for our seniors.

A word of caution - these things are a great help with rising (and lowering into too) a chair ...
I thought I'd take a chance on this for my swivel recliner. Would I be able to swivel? No problem. I brace my forearms on the arms of my chair, raise the arms of the Stand Ease an inch of the ground and away I go. A word of caution - these things are a great help with rising (and lowering into too) a chair but you still have to work at it, I don't doubt a self lifting chair would be better. On the other hand the two additional tubular arms give an alternative way to rest my elbows and I can grip the handrail while the elbow itself is resting on the arm of the chair. I can brace my knees against the upright tubes for comfort too. All in all a lot more than just for sitting and standing. Love it.

Not very secure
After my husband's stroke, I was looking for something to help him rise from our couch. This was just not secure enough to be of any help.

Not worth the money
Its not bulky enough to be useful. Handles are too thin. My mom couldn't get get a grip on the handles

Works great and is totally simple.
This is a completely simple gadget which solves a big problem. My Father-in-law was having a difficult time standing up from the sofa, and this thing was like magic. His legs are very weak, but his arms have enough strength to get him up, with this extra help. We are very pleased.

Better than raising the sofa
Enables elderly patient to get up on her own. We have used sofa risers before but they tend to make the sofa too high for her to sit down without sliding off. The Safetysure Standease works better. At first I wasn't sure it would fit on her couch but it tucked under the bottom cushion and behind the back cushion easily, and it has stayed in place for several weeks.
