Works extremely well.
This seems like a well built quality item. It arrived quickly, nicely boxed with an optical cable, and a usb power lead. Its all steel construction with a milled aluminium volume knob and a good set of instructions.Note, you will have to supply your own power adapter head. You know the type you plug the USB end into to charge your phone? I had dozens of these lying around, but they are cheap as chips to buy. You need the standard 5v 1a adapter. For my set up, I built a sunroom and new patio a few years ago. I installed Bose outdoor speakers, with a Bluetooth HiFi amp installed under the TV in the sunroom, wired to power the speakers outside. The major downfall was that the bluetooth reception from the amp was always really weak. MY mobile phone containing my music library and Spotify lost contact about 6 feet from the amp, and was unusable out on the patio. So I used to have to select the music and leave my phone in the sunroom near the amp which was a pain. So, I looked at this little unit. Apart from being the superior Bluetooth 5.0, it also had a little rubber duck aerial, suggesting a far greater range. So I connected it up no problem, picked up the signal right away. I now can walk to all corners of my back garden (which is over half an acre) with my phone playing music and the signal to the amp never drops once. Whats more, the sound is clearer and less distorted at higher volumes. I don't know if the DAC functions over the bluetooth mode, but it certainly seems much improved. My Phone is a Samsung Galaxy S9 edge, and runs with Bluetooth 5.0 also, so I think I am getting the stronger clearest signal available to me now. Highly impressed.

Excellent for the price
I purchased the DAC to convert the digital audio output from an 4k LG TV to analogue for my 1970’s Rotel amp. The DAC works equally well with either the optical or Bluetooth connections to the tv (however, the tv’s optical output volume is fixed, so I use the Bluetooth connection, which is adjustable using the remote). The DAC also pairs easily with other Bluetooth devices. I can’t detect any bandwidth or distortion issues with general TV and popular music audio and the output volume is plenty for the aux input of my amp. Overall, this device seems to be well-constructed, was easy to set up and works perfectly. Outstanding for the price.

Multiple audio in, with DAC to make use of some older speakers. Really great kit.
Quite a handy little device, the main purpose of which was I needed something that would allow me to connect multiple devices to a single set of speakers. The other requirement I had was that I needed it to be able to connet to my old Logitech Z2200 - in essence a DAC.Ihave to admit, sound quality is very good, especially when i put on music that i now wuld have suffered previously.Gripes:Bluetooth works and i didnt notice any audio sync issues when watching a movie or some YouTube stuff. The only down side is that you need to disconnect a device if its already connnected before connecting another that you want to listen to.The knobBeautiful device, really smooth, butin such a bloody awkward space. It would be realy nice if it had nothing around it so that you could twist it more easily

Great sound, but two big flaws
I chose this because I already have another device like this from a different brand, but wanted another for another location in my house. The sound was excellent. I am quite critical when it comes to music quality, but this sounded great via both bluetooth and also over optical (SPDIF) through my best headphones. The first flaw though is when I started watching TV and sending the output via SPDIF to my headphones (analogue btw). There's a huge latency issue. There was a noticeble sync issue with the picture displayed on screen with the sound I was hearing. I wondered if all devices had this flaw and I'd just never noticed, so I plugged in my old device but that was fine - no lag/sync issues. The second flaw is that there's no way to switch between inputs. If bluetooth is connected and your phone is downstairs, then you can't use the SPDIF input (or the others I'm guessing) until you pop downstairs and disconnect the device from your phone.I thought I was going to keep this device when I only knew of one flaw, but now I think I'm going to return it.

Converts TV Digital Optical input to Analogue output to Quad Amps
The Digital Analogue Converter provides a good analogue signal from the TV optical output, connected to Quad amplifier and speakers. The sound quality (broadband TV Freeview classical stations (703 (BBC3) and 713 (Classic FM))) is superior to DAB radio.Overall, very pleased with the result for what is a very competitively priced high-fidelity sound arrangement. The only 'problem' that i've found is that the sound from the TV speakers is delayed relative to the sound output from the Quad speakers; whilst there is the option to further delay the TV sound, this does not help, as there is no means to advance it to synchronise with the speaker sound. At least, using the optical output, the TV sound can be turned down without affecting the optical output. This, of course, is no reflection on the DA Converter.
