Hi, hi, can i use dk, or aran yarns with these needles, or should i optorsize10? thanks! :-)

The needle number indicates the height of your loops, the higher the number the shorter the loop (14 is the shortest). The regular needle is great with dk and Aran yarns and may take chunky - I would try it out first as thicknesses vary. The fine needle is good for 3 or 4 ply + embroidery thread. I find that dk doesn’t flow, so the loops come undone. I think 9 is a good loop size to start with.

Can I use 2 ply yarn for both needles, or is it just the fine one?

Yes you can use 2ply in both needles. You can use any wool, so long as it pulls through needle and is not too tight you can use it. If it is too tight it will be too thick, and hard to use.

What size ply would you recommend I use for the size 9 and size 10 needles?

I used Dk yarn with the size 9 but I havent used the size ten yet
