The only way these work on fine hair is if you like really tight buns. It will not work for any looser hair arrangements or buns. Also to note, they might bother some as their hardness can be felt on your head when driving or sitting in a tall backed chair such as a recliner.

My daughter was introduced to these 4 years ago in the military. I decided to use them, too, and they are great. I have long, THICK hair and four pins held my hair in a beautiful French twist for a military ball. Much better, less pain and less noticeable than traditional bobby pins.

These little pins are about half an inch shorter than the brand name ones, which makes a difference. They are sturdy and well made. It takes 3-4 of them to hold my thick fine shoulder length hair up in a low bun; I can do it with 2 of the brand name ones.

I have really fine, wispy hair. Normal bobby pins don't hold very well so if I try to put my hair in a bun I get floaties everywhere and it's falling out in minutes. These held my hair really firmly and they didn't pull or jab into my skull. I didn't feel like you could see them in my hair and they were easy to put in and take out. I was worried they'd get stuck together in my bun or tangled in my hair but they didn't at all. It's intuitive to spin them out in the correct direction.I highly recommend them! I can even make a nice french twist with these without my hair falling down - something that I can never do well with bobby pins!

I was having trouble finding these in stores. My job requires my hair be up, however I have a TON of hair and these are the only thing that keeps my bun in place. They are a bit shorter than the ones I had as a teenager and the paint is easily scratched off (can’t tell in the hair) but for the price and the fact I needed them they are a good purchase.

These work well. I was a bit surprised at how quickly the bronze color wore off down to the metal. They're really not visible once they're in your hair, so I guess that doesn't really matter. Also, I would prefer the longer size, as my hair is pretty long. But they do work and hold your hair securely.

These are so much more helpful to do updos or buns than traditional Bobby pins. They are more sturdy and don't slip out. I really love them, and bought extra in case they disappear like hair ties and Bobby pins do.

We are all used to the one on the right. This product is the one on the left. Compared to the norm: its plastic, not metal.- which was not in the description. Springy, not AS sturdy. And it's shorter! It still works but, don't think you're getting 'extra' with it being a 4 pak. I use all 4 in place of the normal 2 metal ones. They technically work. Another example of the cheap earth killing plastic made garbage corporations shove down our throats so we can buy more when these break. Cos they will.

The coating is starting to wear off after only two uses, causing the surface to be rough and the pins to get caught in hair. Disappointing.
