Wonderful Cat Trainer
I have had these ssscat trainers for about 2yrs now. I just ordered another aid and some more refills because I need to keep them in the house to keep my cat out of certain areas.Pros: When they work, they work! My cat hates the spray of air and will run away from it when sprayed. She even gets nervous if she hears it go off and she's nearby. I can place them on the counter, desk, and by my dresser to keep her off surfaces she should not be on. I like that it is not harmful and it only takes 4-AAA batteries that last a decent amount of time.Cons: The price of the aid is ok but the refills can get expensive. I agree with the other reviews that they are expensive and definitely do not last as long as advertised. I attribute this to the multiple times my cat tries to test boundaries but also because if it is unstable, when my cat gets scared and runs, she might knock it down and it sometimes continues to spray a few times afterwards. I've also seen it spray mysteriously on it's own and it seemed that the shadows from the window or wherever it is in reference to the light confuses it. And then of course, I have forgotten it's there and made it go off a bunch of times.Sometimes I have noticed it not going off when she has walked in front of it and I am not sure why. Like anything else battery operated, it can have its faults after being knocked down a bunch of times. One of them stopped working after about 1 year and I think it has to do with being knocked down.I also agree with other reviewers that cats are smart, and mine definitely knows when it is working and when it is not. I also have to move them around to different spots as she will continue to test boundaries after awhile if she doesn't see the ssscat in certain areas. I don't want to buy more so this is the best I can do to try to keep up with her. The only other thing that helps deter in addition to the ssscat is to add those double sided tape strips to couches and other areas so that she will not sit on them.So it's not perfect but I give it 4 starts because when it works, it definitely works well.

Expensive and defective
Sadly the product failed the first night. It was good when it worked but it failed too quickly for it to be reliable. If they can make it reliable, it would be very effective and I would be excited to endorse it. I'm not usually a bad review writer but this was expensive and I want to convince other people not to waste their time too as getting this resolved is not being easy.I read prior product reviews which had some technical problems with the can emptying fast but I wanted to give it a try anyway. I assumed the worst problem would be that I would have to buy a replacement can. At first it was working really well. The can is just a can of air like for cleaning keyboards. You arm the can and leave it and then when the motion reader senses movement, it gives a short burst. Cats do not like it. This was perfect at first and was being effective to train my sweet kittens that 'No meant No' for staying off of the counters. After about an hour, I tried to move the can and it went off and could not be stopped spraying. The Off button didn't work and I had to pry the collar and the cap off. I tried it again and fortunately the can hadn't emptied. It was still working. I set it up again and left the room. I peered around the door and found that it was having a small leak and spraying mist. The nozzle was all frosted up (anyone cleaning a keyboard knows how cold cans after using it). I tried to clean it off and adjust it and reset it. Then i noticed it wasn't working now at all. Sure enough, the can was completely empty. After about two hours, this expensive experiment was over.I went to the Amazon site to find a way to get a refund/replacement and found that it requires contacting PetSafe. It directs you to the website, and not easily, you can find "email support" but then no contact address to email. I haven't phoned the company yet as I work during normal business hours, but getting this fixed shouldn't be this hard. The product didn't work. It was expensive. Refund it and make it convenient for busy people to do so, please.

Funktioniert perfekt...
Hallo miteinander!

Life-saver!
I have a six month old kitten who has decided his favourite hobby is jumping on top of our bird's cage. Despite disciplining him for doing so, he would start jumping on top of the cage in our absence. I therefore did some research on the Ssscat Cat Spray Deterrent and it seemed ideal. It was quite fiddly to get out of the packaging but once out was fairly easy to assemble. I would, however, advise two pairs of hands for fixing the top half to the bottom half as it requires a fair amount of strength to hold the top (spray part) onto the canister and slide the cuff down to hold it in place. The Ssscat takes four AAA batteries which are very straightforward to put in.Once it is all put together, finding the best place to put the Ssscat will require a small amount of trial and error. If you're not careful it will activate when you walk past, which will cause minor heart-attacks!The Ssscat successfully did its job for a number of weeks. My cat soon realised if he went in the vicinity of the Ssscat he was get an unpleasant spray in his direction. Another bonus is the noise the Ssscat makes when set off. However, my little Monster had learnt he is able to jump straight over the Ssscat and onto the top of the bird cage. It has therefore been necessary to purchase some Tesa Powerstrips to affix the Ssscat to the wall just above the bird cage. Hopefully, the Ssscat will be successful once again.Despite being a little pricey, the batteries last and last, the canister lasts quite a while and the results are astounding. If you have a cat who just keeps persevering and wont get the hint I would definitely suggest you give this a try. It is harmless to the cat, if I thought otherwise I would not even consider using it.

Rausgeworfenes Geld

Dont waste your money
In setting this up the can was empty within 5 minutes. We tested it and it sprayed a violent load of air and did not stop. We adusted it several times incase we had set it up wrong but it went exactly the same way and within 4 tries the can was empty. I wanted to deter my cat not give him a heart attack from unrelenting violent sprays that dont stop. The company should be banned from selling this as its a complete rip off.
