This sheath is designed specifically and exactly for the Husqvarna Carpenters Axe. Please check the photo with measurements to make sure you axe will fit the sheath. It is made out of raw cowhide and later stained with Neatsfoot oil. The sheath is handmade in Spokane, Washington. The construction of the sheath starts with three pieces of leather: the main body of the sheath, the securing strap and the welt. The main body is folded over a welt that is inserted between the two folded halfs which prevents the blade of the inserted axe from cutting the stitch that is placed to hold the sheath together along with the glue. The sheath is then hand stitched and steel rivets are placed at the corners to reinforce the body. The axe head blade, when placed in the sheath, is prevented from touching the rivets because of the welt. The retention strap is then secured with a steel rivet and a steel snap is added for easy on/off action. This sheath is built to last, and quality hand made in the USA (Spokane, Washington). Finish to the edges of the leather is applied for aesthetic appeal. This sheath fits this axe like a glove! 5 out of 5 starsAbsolutely beautiful materials, design and execution. Truly a last a lifetime item. The fit is astonishingly perfect. I could not be more pleased. Yes, it's expensive? But hey, I'm very pleased to compensate a craftsman of this level what he's worth. The Husqvarna Carpenter's Axe this goes with is my favorite of the half dozen I own and it deserves a fine sheath like this.

Craftsmanship bargain
My new sheath just arrived quick to ship received in 4 days. I know what you're thinking $36 for a sheath , Ya the one that comes with Husqvarna Carpenters Axe does the job But this looks a lot nicer & fits like a gloves. Only negative thing would be I'm not a big fan of the dye color

Leather workmanship at it's best!
