Great for letting baby decide when to wean
I was a tad skeptical at first. I mean, who likes sucking juice through a mesh bag, that's gotta feel awful! But then, when you're weaning, and all baby's had is milk, or maybe some milk and baby rice, how do you get her used to the tastes of fruit and vegetables without giving her sickly sweet juice or worry about her choking on chunks? These things are perfect, but you HAVE to stop thinking like an adult, and think like a baby. They will put anything and everything in their mouths. Hands, toys, feet, remote controls, everything. It's how they explore the world. So, when you hand them this, their first impulse is to stick it in their mouth. They have a short attention span, so the initial "blergh!" reaction is overcome quite quickly, and they try sticking it in their mouth again. This happens over and over, until they realise that chewing on it with their gums serves a triple purpose: They get food, they scratch their itchy gums where the teeth may be coming through, and they get to chew on something and explore something new.So what do you do with them? Boil up some carrots, or slice up avocado and pop a few pieces into the net. don't overfill it, so it's a bulging balloon, just enough that the net is a bit floppy (they have to get it in their mouths). Screw the net back onto the handle, and then hand it to baby. The big ring around the middle stops the whole thing going in the mouth, the handle makes it easy to pop in and out, and for baby to hold, and the net is chewy and strong enough that it'll last months of mastication with a variety of mushy peas, carrots, broccoli, and all sorts in there. Finally, the last (and probably most important) thing is that, for just a few pounds, give you a way to both keep baby content for a short while, letting you get on with other stuff while she chews away merrily watching Tellytubbies, but also it gets her used to the taste of vegetables, which will pay dividends later when you need to teach healthy food choices. The battle is half won if she already likes the taste of veggies because she was weaned on them.Boiled veggies are a kind of null food. They provide lots of water and some vitamins and minerals, but you can't fatten baby up on them. So these nets aren't a substitute to actually feeding the baby. You will still need to use baby rice, or baby casseroles etc, whatever your local region does. But in between meals, when normally you'd have a giant infant hanging off a breast while you're desperately trying to reply to emails or sort other stuff out, you can instead quickly boil up a veggie (or slice an Avocado if you're REALLY in a hurry), hand it over and get on with other stuff, only keeping half an eye on her.In the beginning, she will only chew it a little, and will tend to spit it out. There will be a LOT of mess (unless he/she REALLY takes to it and sucks every gram out of the net. But as time goes by, you'll notice the bag empty faster, and the mess decrease. Once he/she can munch the bag totally, and you're needing to refill it a few times, you know the baby's ready to properly wean, and you can confidently move her onto healthy foods. Keeping him/her on sweetened rice will just lead to him/her having a sweet tooth and it'll be almost impossible to prevent the baby from crying out for sweets later on, because she's just used to the taste of them. The bag will slowly take on the colour of the foods you put in it. So it'll start out a nice clean white and eventually will be orange or greeny brown. That's fine. Just make sure you wash it in hot water (and/or sterilise it if you feel the need), and it'll be completely safe. These are a great purchase and are invaluable tools for that intermediary stage of weaning. If baby has already started to have teeth come through, you may want to move onto solids more quickly, they might be able to damage the bag if they have lots of teeth... But if there's only gums or one or two emerging teeth, you'll be fine.

Great value and design
Had to buy a second one too as my toddler loves it so we always have one at go.Good shape/design for grip. Netting holds fruit well, no rips and easily washable. Right size for toddler to chew on /suck fruit, can be frozen no damage to material. Ideal when teething, or in hot weather as cooling snack.

Good, but not for us
I can see why some people really like these as it’s a good first step for weaning. The build quality is what you’d expect from tommee tippee, although the netting was a pain to clean. Our daughter didn’t like chewing the netting so only got used a few times

Fab!
I ordered these having been given a Nuby one and baby and I instantly loved it!These are great. Easy to use and a great way to introduce fruit and veg (though only given peas so far veg wise) and encourages self feeding without having to de-seed and take skins off things first of all (though you can). Found if you put oranges and watermelon (for example) in the fridge then place in here then it helps out with teething, as does the easy hold handle.Love that it came with extra net bags and unlike the Nuby is easier to use. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic idea, but difficult to clean.
We thought this was an excellent idea, but the mesh was so difficult to clean especially after used with a strwberry.

Safe and easy to use
This is a brilliant invention and I wish I had discovered this with my other children! My baby is 5.5months and is teething so putting fruits like apple/pear slices in the mesh has been great for her gums! Easy to clean and the additional two nets are brilliant - if any get stained or difficult to clean (depending on the fruit) you have spares!! Highly recommend

My daughter loves it
My daughter who’s 6 months old loves this as it’s good for teething and a good way to introduce baby led weaning. As others have stated It is a bit tricky to clean but it’s not impossible. I’ve only really used it for fruits such as apples, pears and melons and it’s been fine. Obviously you can imagine anything softer such as banana or avocado would be a nightmare to clean but you need to use common sense and not give items with such consistency as it’s not designed for them.
