Taig 1030-T 4 Jaw Independent Chuck

Having been a model engineer for some years now and facied with the major issue of how to machine parts that are outside the range of my machinery. The problem becomes apparent when attemting to hold and machine very small parts on a relatively larger lathe. The only solution is to use smaller holding devices. This chuck is about 3 1/4" diameter, with a screw style mount. I had to make a mounting adaptor to suite my lathe, but that was no problem. In use, the chuck is easy to set up having concentric rings machined into the face to indicate the position of the jaws. The fit of the jaws in the body is quite precise and the chuck performed well in machining the bronze steam glands for my locomotive. My only negative comment is the price!
