Atomic Skin (PAC-039) SAE To Coax Female Cable

While reviews say that the purchasers have used this product to connect to battery to SAE cables common to Battery Tender type trickle chargers , the product instructions note that both the wire gauge and the fuse used in those cables are insufficient and that this product should only be used with the jacket makers or Powerlet brand battery to SAE cable.That being said, the Battery Tender website does state that their Ring Terminal Harness contains a 7.5a fuse, which is sufficient for a jacket alone (Gerbing jacket 6.9A). Adding any additional heated gear such as gloves (2A), pants (4A) etc., will require a larger fuse, e.g. gerbing recommends using a 15A for jacket and glove combination to "accommodate for 'surge' upon startup".

I use this to connect my Gerbings electric jacket to the wiring harnesses for battery trickle chargers on my motorcycles. It never occurred to me that such a product existed until my friend told me about it. I could not be happier, as all three of my motorcycles are fitted with trickle charges and can thus be ridden all winter. In the past, I always added a harness to one of my bikes to ride as a "dedicated" winter bike. Fantastic.

The SAE to heated gear coax adapter works. About 6in long. Seems reasonably well made. The female part of the SAE is 1/8in too long, which creates a gap from full seat, but I might be able to trim that down, reason for 4 stars. Other than this it works well to allow me to connect my Tourmaster 2.0 vest controller to an SAE to cigarette adapter that I had. This allows me to use my vest with a cigarette outlet power until I can fully route and install coax on my bike. It also allows me to use it in my car for those really cold mornings. And to allow friends to try my heated gear on their bikes.

Provided exactly what I needed to connect heated gear to my battery tender connection on my motorcycle. Keeps me from needing two connections to the battery. Great solution!

Item as advertised. My own fault for not reading reviews, I also thought I was getting TWO cables as shown. Maybe the seller should be more specific about the photo, I hope it is only an oversite on their part.

This cable works fine and makes it convenient to reuse the battery tender table to connect heated gear. I am using this to repurpose a mounted battery tender cable to run a firstgear heat-troller.

Heated gear

Fits properly at both ends. Have not yet needed to use it, so cannot yet confirm performance.

Works really good with my heated motorcycle vest.
