I am not a fan of BBQ sauce. With the dozens available at the supermarket, you might question why buy on Amazon. I found this sauce by accident and was intrigued by its many awards. At a weak moment, I ordered it even though I prefer dry rub. I have to say, it's the best sauce I have ever had. The wife loved sauce and usually buys different sauces at the market hopping I will like one. She was simply wowed by Sluggos flavor. It is not what I consider to be thick, but it's not runny either. It has just the right amount of texture to stay on meat with out dripping off. It has just a bit of blueberry taste and a lot of distinct BBQ flavor. It is spiced just right needing no additional additives like many store bought sauces need. We used this on Texas grilled ribs and it was absolutely wonderful! I will be buying this again! I was looking for a different BBQ sauce, and from the reviews I thought this would be a homerun hit. I had no idea what a Chicago style BBQ sauce was, but after trying it I'm not a fan. Several folks have reviewed this sauce goes good on everything. I have yet to try something that I have liked it on. I find the sauce overly sweet. It has a heavy apple cider vinegar base with some brown sugar in there. Those two things are incredibly sweet. The sauce by itself I couldn't find something it paired with, and i'm not alone. I took the bottle to work and let 5 different people try it without tipping them off in any manner. Not a single person preferred it.If you want to choose this sauce, be aware it is going to be VERY sweet. If this were used as a basting sauce and some of it has cooked off it might be alright. But so far it has not served as a pour on BBQ sauce or a good dipping sauce. I won't order anymore.

Boy, was I glad I purchased the Sluggos BBQ sauce.Words can't describe it's great taste.I've had it before under its previous name, which I won't mention, because of infringement purposes. But , funny thing is I talked to Sluggo's creator, Bob Prossi, and he mentioned that he was bringing his top notch sauce back , under it's new name , Sluggos.This sauce puts the other brand named sauces on the market to shame.Sluggos has just a hint of a spicy kick to it's already tasty background flavor to cap off the whole essence of being a great sauce.I am all ready to make some pulled pork to use this flavorful sauce to compliment my recipe.Please if you've never had Sluggo's, please give it a try, you won't be disappointed. As other reviewers have mentioned, this definitely tastes more like a steak sauce than a BBQ sauce. Unimpressive across the board, especially for the price. The first time I used this, assuming it would be out of this world (based on the content of its 5 star reviews), I made dinner for my family. 0/6 people were wowed by this sauce. Better off sticking with homemade, and learning to take raving reviews with a grain of salt.

A friend recommended this sauce, and I was not disappointed. My wife typically buys Sweet Baby Rays, which I think is too sweet. I usually prefer the authentic flavor of Famous Dave's but miss the tanginess of a more North Carolina style sauce. Sluggo's tastes like the sweet spot of all these bundled into one bottle. It's a bit sweet, but tangy, with a little kick. Truly unique in flavor, I've found it to be my new "go to" when I'm smoking meat. So glad my buddy recommended!

We recently tried this based on reviews and found it to be an excellent tasting BBQ sauce. It's a quality combination of tasteful and interesting ingredients, like olive oil, garlic, chili pepper, onion and a touch of curry. Importantly, it compliments the meat rather than overpowering the taste. While some reviewers have commented that the sauce is a bit thin, we don't see the consistency as a disadvantage because it allows the user enough control to flavor the meat to their own particular taste. We will definitely buy this again and highly recommend it.

Pretty good BBQ sauce. My only complaint is that it is in a plastic bottle and not glass. Maybe the company will change this in the future. I would consider purchasing it again.

I can't believe I found a low sodium BBQ sauce, especially one that taste's even better than the higher-sodium brands! I bought one bottle to try, and will now go back for more!!
