INVALUABLE and same book as "Moments of Enlightement"
Firstly, this is just to let you know that this title has the identical content to the book titled "Moments of Enlightenment", also by the same authors.Secondly, what an eye opener! This book is a set of beautiful mini-biographies and enlightening experiences of mystics and of holy men and women. The authors have done an excellent job of capturing the essence of each mystic so much so that when reading the accounts you feel transported into their holy mystical worlds.Having all of these accounts side by side allowed me to see patterns and similarities. So many different paths leading to the same goal.Probably the biggest contribution this book has to my own spiritual journey is to bring me back to my only purpose: to love. In the words of Jesus, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all you mind…”Thank you for this.

Fantastic read and a lovely introduction to a great cross-section of enlightened beings.
I love this book. I have read a ton of spiritual literature and had heard of many of the people featured in this book, and yet I still found it informative and enlightening (pun fully intended). I discovered several self realized beings for the first time, particular the "regular" people the authors intentionally included. It was fascinating to hear about their unexpected journeys to self realization, some of them not able to identify what was happening to them until long after the big events (or non events, as some would argue). Among my very favorite stories were the ones about Peace Pilgrim and Suzanne Segal... wow. Inspiring, heart wrenching stuff. This book delivers on its promise to recount stories of enlightenment, first hand where possible, without adding much in the way of opinions to the mix.

A must-read for those interested in spiritual awakening
One of the most insightful books I've read on spiritual awakening. It's fascinating to read the different stories of how individuals throughout history have reached liberation through so many different paths. I highly recommend for anyone interested in the topic of enlightenment or spirituality.

An Inspiring Masterpiece.
Robert Ullman and Judy Reichenberg-Ullman have written an inspiring much needed book. I am surprised that it has been in print for 17 years before I discovered it. We live in an age when almost everything we see or read is negative. For me, the antidote to that negativity is reading positive uplifting material.Mystics, Masters, Saints, and Sages is book that should be read and reread slowly and savored story by story until it’s message sinks into our being. Many thanks to the authors for taking the time to create this gem of a book.

inspiring - about central experiences of saints and masters
Stumbling over this book, I'm amazed that no one wrote a comment on it yet. So, against my usual habit, I do so.Contrary to most similar collections, its not made up of interviews, but of quotes from publications by around three dozen masters between buddha and Gangaji. The authors managed to draw the very most poignant parts of them.So what you get is a concise collection of nectars from the written testimonials of saints an masters throughout the ages, with a focus on so called modern ones.Wonderful book. Very very inspiring. Some of the "subjects" lived in the US of the early last century - quite unknown to the mass of spiritual seekers.Right now, it doesn't seem to be high on the sales-scales. Don't know wether it had been so. If not, I'm truely amazed. The only thing that could be better is the cover-design.
