Useful UH-DB162 Air Drain Blaster Air Pressure Pump Drain Cleaner Unclogs Toilets Sinks Plunger

Trust me, I'm an engineer
I had a slow clog resurfacing in my bathroom sink (due to hair or toothpaste build up). In the past, i tried everything: chemicals, boiling water, a snake, a plunger-- nothing worked (the plunger actually made it worse since all plungers do is displace a small volume when you push it in, and then when you pull back up, you suck the water back up, clogging your sink with dirty drain water). I had to call in a plumber. This time, i decided to try this thing. It works different than a plunger, since you pump it with air and then release it all at once. This creates high pressure and high volume displacement, and is able to dislodge clogs. I tried it once making sure to push down on the seal (you dont want to push down on the gun-- it's plastic and might break, and you need a lot of force to keep the seal, since even a few psi pressure will cause a large reaction force and can easily cause most of the air to leak around the seal). It helped, but i forgot to seal off the drain bypass. The second time i sealed off the drain bypass, and filled the drain up with water (if the drain is filled with air, by the time the gas expands from the gun into the drain volume, it will be at reduced pressure-- since water is incompressible, it also more efficiently transfers pressure from the compressed air to the clog), and the clog was gone. I dumped a bucket full of water into the sink and it drained instantly. No clog left whatsoever.I havent tried the toilet adapter, but based on my experience with the sink adapter, i wouldnt recommend using it on toilets. If you submerge it underwater, it has the tendency to splash water back in your face. And you dont want that to happen if there is poop in the water...I rated it four stars because after the first firing, something weird happened with the device, and it seems like the device leaks a bit, until you pump it up a few times. Not sure what's going on, but it seems to still work so far... (though it might not in the future; will keep this review updated).TL;DR: It worked very well for me (though it remains to be seen how long this thing will last). Those who didnt have success might not have known how to use it correctly (which is understandable, given there are no instructions included). For proper use, i recommend:(1) Close off any overfill ports in the sink, which could provide alternate path for the air to go(2) Push the rubber seal down into the sink to prevent splashback and concentrate pressure (push from the plastic part itself, not with the hand holding the trigger, since you dont want to break the plastic)(3) If possible, fill up clogged drain with water. Water is incompressible and will more efficiently transfer pressure to dislodge the clogTrust me, I'm an engineer.

Good, but needs instructions
This item does not come with instructions which made it a little confusing to put the pieces together and to figure out exactly how to use it. We found videos on you tube, and once we removed the drain from the bathroom sink and pulled a wad of gunk out, this device did the rest and cleared the slow drain. I think it is a good product, but it was a longer process than we expected due to the lack of instructions.

Worked on slow draining bathtub
This product worked for my slow draining tub. As most reviewers are saying the lack of instructions is surprising not only for assembly but for proper usage in various applications. After some trial and error, I was able to figure out that multiple pumps were needed before hitting the trigger to get proper pressure down my tub drain. As well as using only the smaller tip for the tub that comes with the product.I recommend filling the tub with some water and blocking the overflow drain area to force the pressure towards the clog. I blasted the drain at least 10 times and lots of dirt came back up, then the drain started to empty. The actual force should be quite strong if you are doing it right. After some further testing with more water, the drain is now running much better. I would recommend this solution to a friend.

Good luck!
I purchased this item after reading reviews. I have no idea wheat they are talking about. This item does nothing to help clogged drains. It's unfortunate that I'm now stuck with this item that doesn't work and I can't return. Buyer beware the item does not come with instructions. You're left on your own to figure it out. Good luck!

Great for busting clogs, and blasting Nerf darts!
This drain buster works incredibly well clearing sink and toilet clogs, as well as some gutter downspouting. However, it also makes for an amazing air powered nerf blaster with some slight modifacations. It is very reminiscent of an older drain buster nicknamed "Cobra Drain blaster," and is just as powerful. If you can find one of these things, they are more than worth it compared to a dinky old Titan tank.

Garbage! It won't hold air pressure at all.
Garbage! It won't hold air pressure at all. Pump it forever and it's useless. I have owned a similar product in the past that I used regularly for years till it finally wore out. So sorry that this crap is what's available now.

I liked this initially but it has already broken
I liked this initially but it has already broken. The plastic in brittle and the part that is supposed to keep the "air pressure" leaks and there is no pressure :(

You can pump this thing till you're blue in the face and does not generate enough pressure to do anything.
