Worked perfect - 1987 F250 6.9idi Diesel
Lately the tach on my 1987 F250 6.9IDI wasn’t indicating the engine rpms, obvious at cold start high idle when the engine is revving where it should but the tach reads 200rpm. Swapped the sensor out this morning in about 10 minutes, remember to put a few drops of oil on the o-ring prior to installing. Fired the truck up (29 degree morning cold start, block heater not plugged in) and the tachometer immediately indicated the high idle (1200rpm)! Interesting too...the truck seems to shift smoother? I’m going to do some homework on that one. Since the old sensor I just replaced had 232,000 miles on it, I’ll likely not see the day (Maybe the truck?) where I’ll need to order again...but I would.

Perfect fit
There are aftermarket sensors for less money but Genuine Ford Parts - especially when dealing with transmission issues is the best solution.

Finally have a working tach
I have a 1987 ford F350 6.9 IDI and the Tach never worked correctly.Ordered this and it took 3 minutes to install. Works perfectly now...

Works just as it should
Tach stopped working in my 85 f 250 6.9l diesel. Tried all the local auto part stores. Not only do they not carry the tach sensor, but they don't even list it. Very happy with this replacement, fit perfectly, no problems of any kind, and my tach works perfectly.
