Happy End

The two main characters discover their love for each through considering the life of a third person/her life and death. The movie asks us to consider what a life with dignity is, what friendship and love are. The two main actors develop their characters in engaging and convincing ways. Altogether, it’s a very enjoyable movie despite the ending which is both sad yet, if one is willing, transcendent.

I liked evetything.....oh bar seen could have had more women.

Uneven script that couldn't quite decide if it was a comedy or a serious piece. However, I gave it four stars because of two elements: 1. it was quite refreshing to see a movie with lesbian characters, where being a lesbian is not the be all and end all of the story, but rather just facets of the characters. The movie held more universality that way. and 2. the ultimate theme and message of the film was terrific and touching. Worth watching.

Good movie. Worth it to see different type of movie. Makes you think. Acting only OK.

Boring and kind of predictable and a whole lotta uptight. Maybe it's a German thing. Tries to be deep with some of the conversations between the characters but isn't really imo. I fast forwarded through parts of it and won't bother to watch it again. BTW, one of the main characters dies at the end. Surprise! Well, not really.

a 5 star movie on the actresses in this movie.I enjoy all movies international outside of this country.People must look at this movie production in another country and they do things in different fashionPeople don't have to take what I say but I look for a strong women in all movies and there relationships between the women.

Get the tissues out..

No doubt about it. This is definitely the " Love Story" ( Ryan O'Neal; Ali MacGraw. 1970) for lesbians! In French ( I believe) with English subtitles, the plot takes many twists and turns. The women encountering much homophobia from their families along the way.

Guter Film mit interessanten Schauspielern und guter Handlung. Sehr gutes Thema das teilweise auch der Realität entspricht. Den Film kann ich nur empfehlen !!!

... Sekundenweise. Das sind die Studentin Lucca(Sinha Gierke) und Val(Verena Wüstkamp). Die beiden haben sich in einem Hospiz kennen gelernt, in dem Lucca Arbeitsstunden ableisten muss. Durch einen ziemlich miesen Zufall musste Lucca, eigentlich auf dem Sprung zur eigenen Anwaltskanzlei, diese Strafe auf sich nehmen. Ihr Vater Georg(Sascha Tschorn) ist davon alles andere als begeistert. Als die lebenslustige Val, die sich mit einer ganzen Hand voller Gespielinnen das Leben versüßt, dann auch noch zusammen mit Lucca die Urne einer im Hospiz gestorbenen Frau stiehlt, um sie an ihrem Lieblingsplatz zu beerdigen, weiß niemand mehr so richtig, was da eigentlich läuft. Während die Polizei, Georg und die Familie der Sohn der Verstorbenen die Frauen suchen, entdeckt Lucca in Vals Nähe das Leben, den Tod, die Liebe und die Kraft, eigene Entscheidungen zu treffen. Lucca und Val sind auf einem Feldzug der Würde, und es braucht seine Zeit, bis alle anderen Beteiligten das verstehen...Es dauert ein wenig, bis Petra Clevers Film zündet. Dann tut er es jedoch nachhaltig. Die etwas andere Liebesgeschichte zwischen Lucca und Val wird schlichtweg wunderbar erzählt. Vor allem die Darstellung der unglaublichen Nähe von Leben und Tod ist Petra Clever sehr gut gelungen. Den Rest machen Sinha Gierke und Verena Wüstkamp klar. Sie mögen nicht oscarverdächtig agieren, doch sie spielen mit jeder Menge Gefühl, Herzblut und Überzeugung. Neben allem Drama hat es Petra Clever zudem noch geschafft, der Geschichte eine komödiantische Note zu verpassen, die ihr gut steht.-Happy End- ist ein kleiner, feiner Film. Einer, der ganz sicher nicht allen Zuschauern gefällt. Das muss er auch nicht. Er wird in jedem Fall seine Fans finden, denn: Das was Petra Clever da auf die Filmrolle gebannt hat, ist eine Geschichte aus dem Leben. Und diese Geschichten, das versichere ich ihnen, finden immer ihre Anhänger...
