Does anybody knows actually the real writing speed for it ?

It is around 2.55MBs, which takes forever and the drive gets really hot, to the point I am worried that it might melt down. Better stick your phone in the freezer while it is copying 100GB worth of media.

its plastic, but a hard plastic. i got one cz i have macbook and a pc. this thing is tough as nails, i have it on my keys and they are thrown around the place. its a good buy !

How long is the usb C plug. I have a rather thick case on my s9+ and there is restricted access to the usb port. The plug would need to be 8mm long

Somewhere between 7 and 8 mm - silver bit, but black part is tapered so it might still fit ?. However, suggest you look for a usb-c extension lead (or male to male & a female to female connector - I use both that work fine together) that fits, so as to solve the prob for all.
