I received this clock for Christmas, and I've got to say I really really enjoyed the making process. It took a few days on-and-off, and whilst not hugely complicated, was enough to help me zone out and enjoy doing something new. It's not a job for the faint-hearted, small parts can snap easily (I only snapped one piece) and the instructions make it complicated... but rewarding... but... and it's a big big but... the clock doesn't actually work. Despite it being sold as a working clock, I've tried everything, and it won't do time. So for all intent and purpose, it's just a really lovely looking decoration. I was really gutted if I'm honest. I wanted to see it ticking away telling the time, and despite retracing steps and going back over instructions, I can only come to the conclusion that it's not meant to work.Also -- major word of caution, it's build so robustly, that once it's constructed, there's absolutely no taking it apart to rework bits. It's a one-and-done solution.Buy it if you really want something pretty to look at, and fun to make... don't buy it if you want the satisfaction of building your own working time-piece.

Like another reviewer I too was bought this for Christmas and I agree with the majority of comments made, but I have been able to de-construct on a number of occasions but without success. The clock does not work consistently if at all. I have been in contact with the manufacturer but they have been of little help. The main problem appears to be the actuating wheel which has a tendency to slide the two threads together which causes them to wind up and jam. The pendulum is also somewhat hit and miss in its action and the clock has, on the whole irregular action. I have followed the You Tube video carefully and do not see anything different to my actions. Disappointed!
