Very well written story
I bought this book because having been a child of WW2, living in DC I enjoy first person accounts of men who fought. I also noted that Charles lives in the same town that I do now.It is not a long book but covers his war experiences expertly in my view. His post war experiences in Austria are very interesting and a story I had never seen before.I would recommend it to anyone interested in this soldiers view of the end of the war in Germany and Austria.

Honor and integrity meet man's ultimate inhumanity.
I know Chuck Palmeri. Boy Soldier captures the essence of his integrity, honor, selflessness and manhood. Yes, manhood. In this age of political correctness, Chuck Palmeri is the definition of what it is to be a real man. I am blessed to know a man like Palmeri. There aren’t many like him and they are fewer every year as each takes a final bow.He won’t tell you; he doesn’t need to. Palmeri’s life is testament to the highest level of humanity. Palmeri is a real man, a tough man, a warm and caring man, one whom I can only hope to emulate and whose acquaintance I will treasure until I take my final own bow.Jim Koeniger, Nokomis

Rainbow Foot Soldier
Easy to read account of an "Rainbow Division" infantryman's experience in Europe during World War II. Well written description of everyday life of a footsoldier. Could not put the book down once I started reading it. Well done Mr. Palmeri
