OXO Good Grips Stronghold Suction Sponge Holder

Oxo can do no wrong in our household. It’s my go-to brand for kitchen tools/gadgets. I have zero complaints on this so far. It’s easy to use, well-made, attaches well to the stainless sink, and I’d imagine it’d be pretty easy to keep clean. It makes the sink area look tidy as I used to have just a sponge holder on the counter. I only wish I had bought it sooner.

I like to keep my sponge up off the bottom of the sink to let it air dry. This does it perfectly. The only problem that I find is it will get some slime on it, but a quick wash will get rid of it. The suction on it is good, but every so often I’ll hear it fall in the sink. That no big deal to put it back on the sink. There is no adjustability to it. It’s made of plastic and metal.

Overall, this is a pretty good sponge holder. Stick solidly to side of sink. We like to keep two sponges by the sink, so it would have been nice if it was a little wider.

An honest review as I've had this piece for 5 yrs.now. I have an old metal sink. 97% of the time it is suctioned on and doesn't move. But yes here and there it slips off. Usually when I am doing really heavy cleaning of large pots and pans that keep bumping it, when the whole sink needs cleaning well as embarrassing enough, sometimes a full deep scrubbing occurs once a month. (Or longer...don't judge) Or when the sink is getting hit with oils from PTSD and pans often. But again it falling off is usually the reminder, I don't know, TO CLEAN! So I clean everything well, toss it in the dishwasher, dry up the sink area and once it is out, I resuction it back on. That is it. It is small but sturdy and 5 yrs later it is still used daily in my kitchen sink. I toss out sponges faster than I need to reattach it. I definitely got my monies worth. I did have those plastic no pressure suction ones prior, and those really do fall off daily. This one uses a pressure lever for the added attachment like a needy toddler always sticking around.

Excellent product. Very happy with my purchase. It stays put. Be careful where you put it when you first install it because it's hard to move afterwards.

I began living alone recently for the first time in 20 years and had to learn some new details of housekeeping. One of these (I noticed it at a friend's house) was the suction-cup sponge holder for the kitchen sink. Wonderful invention. Don't recall seeing this two decades ago. This OXO product is excellent. Sturdy, well-designed and with a tray that can hold a thick sponge. One comment: I noticed on the 1- and 2-star reviews people complaining hat the suction cup doesn't hold. That's likely because they failed to read the directions on the package. You don't wet the suction cup and press it onto the wet sink wall. It will fall off easily if you do that. Instead, the cup has a lever that you release after detaching the tray. Then you place the DRY cup against a DRY sink wall and press the lever inward to lock the cup in place. Then hang the tray back on it. Do this properly and the thing clings to your sink like a barnacle on a ship's hull. Very pleased with this purchase. Paid a bit more than cheaper options but it should last a long time. "Buy once, cry once."

This thing stays so well and is so cute and sturdy and then out of NO WHERE about once a month it will just fly off of my refrigerator. I’m not sure why it has this fit every month but otherwise it’s a very good sponge holder. Not sure I would re-buy, I’m a bit conflicted on its durability. Also, it is a bit annoying to re-attach to surfaces (you have to remove the holder part so you can get to the suction part, kind of hard to explain). It’s decent.

Niestety, produkt nie przylega do mojego zlewu kamiennego. Próbowałam kilka razy, ale bez rezultatu. W moim przypadku okazał się nieprzydatny.

El mejor de los que he probado. El sistema de ventosa con "clic" va genial, no se cae por mucho que se moje. Lo tengo en el fregadero desde hace ya un mes y estoy muy contenta. El tamaño es perfecto para el típico estropajo "salvauñas".

We just loved this product. Cleaned off the inside of sink and clamped the suction cup to the sink. It stays where we put it until we need to take it down for sink cleaning.
