Effective Safety Tread Tape - Great for steps!
WE have a little camping trailer whose steps are just too slippery in the rain and even in the early morning dew. We knew we had to do something. Finding friction tape in the stores that is wider than 1 inch is a nightmare! I went to 4 different big box home improvement stores with no luck. It was so easy to get this wider friction tread tape and at a great price! Much cheaper that anything else I'd found. It was super easy to cut with a pair of scissors, easy peal backing, and it was easy to place and even adjust when I didn't have one strip lined up exactly. We had no problem with any amount of moisture on the steps. The traction texture is just enough without being hard to step on - even bare foot!

Not bad, but didn't work for what I wanted
It stuck well, and it seemed fine. I was in need of some traction for a ramp to get my lawnmower into a building. Gave this a shot. while it worked and I got the mower into the building, the tape wasn't strong enough to keep stuck to the wood. I was worried that would be the outcome, but tried it anyway. The product itself seems well made and I suspect it works great for traction on steps, but just writing this in case someone was looking to achieve the same as I was looking to achieve. If that is the case, you may want to save your cheddar and try something else.

Sticks Really Well to Composite Decking Material
I purchased this grip tape to put down on ramps made of composite decking material that I have on either side of a ground deck. I knew that grip tape ideally should be applied to a smooth surface, which composite decking material is not. However, this tape seemed to get good reviews so I thought I would give it a try. I also purchased a roller specifically designed for applying the grip tape.I applied the tape on the two deck ramps on a day when they had been exposed to the sun most of the day, so the boards were hot. I thought that this might help the glue to adhere better to the uneven surface. Later the same night, we had unexpected heavy rain. If I had known it was going to rain, I wouldn't have applied the tape earlier the same day. The next morning I went out and pushed against the tape with my foot and it didn't budge. Later that day, I went to a local big box hardware store and bought a lot of gravel. I made about a dozen trips with a wheelbarrow full of heavy gravel over both ramps and the tape stayed in place.I had a little bit of tape left over, and I knew I wanted to put strips of tape down on my shed ramp, which is made of the same composite decking material. However, I didn't have enough tape left on the roll to do the shed ramp, plus I wanted to see how the tape would perform over the course of several weeks before I bought second roll. After several, some heavy, rains and heavy loads going over the tape, it stayed in place. So, I decided to order a second roll so I could do the shed ramp. However, at the time, this brand of tape was out of stock and it said that it was unknown when it would be available again. So, I purchased a different brand of tape, which got a 4.5 star rating, from this web site and applied it to the shed ramp this past Sunday. The ramp had been exposed to the sun almost all day and the boards were hot. I also had enough of the Satawell tape left to apply two strips to the shed ramp. The following night, we had very heavy rain. The next afternoon, I pulled my lawn tractor out of the shed to mow the lawn, and all of the strips of the other brand of grip tape pulled up from the ramp. However, the two Satawell strips stayed in place. I put the pieces of grip tape back in place, using a roller, hoping that the hot sun would melt the glue enough so they would stick to the ramp while I mowed the lawn. Two hours later when I drove up the ramp to put the lawn tractor in the shed, all of the other brand of grip tape strips pulled up, again. However, the two Satawell brand strips stayed in place.

wonderful product to prevent losing footing on stairs.
Due to broken legs I have problems on stairs and falling. Using this product give me confidence to take the stairs and not slip at all. Grabs the shoes or slippers and no slipping at all. So good the family is using it and ordered more to help more family members.

Sticky side not so sticky
I love the gritty side. There's no way anyone is going to slip on that. But the sticky side was no so sticky. Fortunately, I was using this on a wood stair tread, so I used a staple gun to hold down the edges. I don't need to solve a slipping problem by creating a tripping problem.

Great tape with Good Grip!
I installed this tape on the edge of painted steps on a deck. They made a big difference in feeling like I was going to fall down them when they were wet. That extra grip was just what we needed. It was easy to install and seems to be staying on great even in high traffic areas!
