Excellent little fan
I got this fan to add to the stove pipe of a Winnerwell camping wood stove. I must say, this thing works like a charm. Even when the pipe get VERY hot, this thing kept working. I made the fire hot enough that the pipe was glowing red hot (not recommended, but i wanted to test its limits). It took very little time from starting the fire to have it start running. It was nearly instantly running. Really it did an extraordinary job, and essentially doubled as a visual reminder of how well the fire was running and when a new log was needed.Ive had a few fires so far and it shows no signs of stopping. I've seen some comments about it making noise, but thus far it has been completely silent. Maybe it will change over an extended period of time, but the initial reaction I've had is all good. For the price, I've very pleased with the result.

Doesn't appear to work on Jotul gas stove
I cannot get this fan to turn no matter how low I place it on the pipe. Seller says to be sure pipe is 100+ and it appears to be reaching 200 at its highest. Thoughts? ideas? I would prefer to return this item but have been unable to do so yet. Maybe it's only for wood burning stoves?

pretty neat and a little push
I am using this in addition to 2 other stove top fans just like it. I have a 2 stage Yukon cast iron wood stove. I use this to heat my house and cook food on in the winter. It has a decent push of air from around the pipe and is quick to pick up speed. Don't get me wrong, it is not a 120V 3 foot box fan. It is enough to pull some additional heat off the flue and into the main portion of the house. Over all I am pretty satisfied with it. We shall see how long it lasts. Those having problems with it not spinning, just like all thermodynamic engines, they must have a good smooth solid contact with the heat surface...it is not a fan you plug into an outlet.

Marginal Air Movement
I was excited to get this and use it on my pellet stove pipe. It is relatively easy to install using a hose-clamp, although I am not crazy about the contrast of the silver of the clamp against the black of the pipe. I am mildly disappointed at the performance of this product. It does not turn unless I have the pellet stove turned up above 3 (settings run1-5). Once it is turning it really does not move a lot of air. I checked the stove pipe above and below the fan with a laser-gun thermometer and the readings only differed by 2-3 degrees Fahrenheit. I will probably keep it on the pipe as it does move some air at high temperatures. I would probably not recommend this or buy it again based on the price/value ratio.

Doesn't work with double-wall pipes
I have a stainless steel, double-wall exhaust pipe; consequently, this unit doesn't get hot enough to push any air. It won't even blow out a lit Bic lighter from 6 inches away, so if you have a double pipe exhaust from your stove, this unit is worthless. Also, had to buy my own strap, as the included strap was too short to fit around this double pipe setup (about 6.5" in diameter). If you have an insulated exhaust pipe, buy a unit that sits on top of your stove.
