Xylitol is amazing
Everyone needs to learn about Xylitol. Replaces sugar in equal amounts. Does not convert to acids that aid tooth decay. It actually is antibacterial for mouth, nose, and throat bacteria - reducing bacterial load. In fact, it makes a great nose wash if you feel even a tingle of an oncoming infection dissolve a tsp of xylitol in 1/2-3/4 c distilled water and "snort" it liberally. I just leave mine in a cup with a spoon in it. I "snort" the spoonful very liberally and frequently. I know I have offset many a sniffles and cold. If you have heard of Xlear nasal spray xylitol is what they use but mixing your own, I fee,l is much more powerful and a WHOLE lot cheaper. It also inhibits or outright kills the bacteria that cause tooth decay. If only we could get little kids to sniff it up I think it would save them from a lot of ear infections. It's nice and sweet, I wonder if just drinking it would help. Parents try this. Best of all, it does not raise blood sugar and it does not lead to insulin resistance. For a few people it may take an adjustment period. Too much might cause stomach upset, gas, and diarrhea probably because it is also messing with your gut microbiota balances. As with everything, moderation is necessary. It is very natural, from birch and other hardwood trees, and fibrous vegetation. Zint offered the best price at least on amazon. It can get expensive. Package says "Raw material from china"

Best and least expensive bulk xylitol source to date!
Zint Xylitol is the best and least expensive bulk xylitol source that I have found to date. I make xylitol hard candies and also use quite a bit of xylitol as a sugar substitute in other applications. I found the weight of the unopened Zint bag to be 2303 grams and since these container bags typically weigh 23 to 25g themselves you are definitely getting the full 5lbs of xylitol listed. I then tested the melting point of Zint Xylitol and it melts sharply just before 200ยฐF {expected mp 197.6ยฐF (92ยฐC)} producing a crystal clear liquid, which tells me it's likely quite pure with no fillers. {Some suppliers add 'things' that suppress the melting point and make the melt liquid "milky" but not Zint} If Zint's prices stay low I will be using them instead of "Xylo Sweet" which is also good and had replaced "Xyli Pure". Both are good choices BUT quite a bit more expensive. There are only 2 cons 1) the bag sealing mechanism is terrible and 2} the xylitol crystals are a bit uneven in size. The bag sealing problem is the same with other brands, the ziplock like seal gets filled with xylitol crystals and just doesn't close well. Be sure to use a good strong clip or another container and everything will be fine. The uneven crystals really aren't a problem if you measure by weight but if you measure by volume it's like the difference between using kosher salt and table salt. The real problem with Zint is that it's a mixture of large and small crystals so just keep in mind you may need to alter recipes slightly and it's fine. I've included some microscope images, 2 have "Xylo Sweet" on the left side and Zint on the right. Zint Xylitol has greater size variation but the crystals are still beautifully clear. Five pounds of xylitol for under $19 including delivery is absolutely AWESOME and the taste and quality is equal to or better than other brands all of which are more expensive. So unless you need extremely consistent granule size get Zint Xylitol.

Tastes great like more expensive brands, better price. Great for dental health.
I've been using xylitol for dental care with my toddler. I bought a bunch of xylitol gels and wipes but they are unbelievably expensive if you go consider the amount, filled with other unnecessary ingredients, and the wipes are just awful to use so they're just saved when I have nothing else with me. I make a teaspoon of xylitol (roughly 5 grams a day is considered effective) mixed in a small amount of water for my toddler sipped through the day especially after meals and snacks between brushings. I also use it in my coffee now instead of sugar. I have never accepted any other sugar substitute until xylitol. The first time I could just barely tell it was a little different, but there's no aftertaste. It really is just so close to sugar. And my teeth don't feel sticky after my morning coffee. I could just give up sugared coffee but this is a nice replacement and hopefully even better for my oral health. I started with another brand, made from all birch and in the USA. It was quite a bit more expensive but it's for my kid and so I went with it until I could consider my options. We finished up that small container so quickly since I"m using also a couple of teaspoons a day. At time to reorder, I saw Zint has 5lbs for so much less. It tastes the same to me. It's 100% refined xylitol so I don't know why it would taste differently regardless of being made from corn. Just like beet sugar is identical to cane sugar, xylitol is xylitol. Zint is made in China so there's that difference if it matters to you. I tend to worry more about such things if the product involves plastics or paints, but China is a huge producer so it's hard to avoid for everything. I hope they has a good test and monitoring process in place as all companies should, but I'm otherwise very satisfied with the product for a good value.

Much Finer Crystals, Defective Ziplock Bag
Xylitol is hands down the best sugar alternative. It has the same bulk, sweetness, and texture as regular sugar, but with a lot fewer calories and a lower glycemic index. It has the same taste as sugar, unlike stevia and other sugar substitutes. Best of all, you can use this in cooking and baking exactly the same as you would sugar (no other sugar substitute performs well in baking). It also inhibits the bacteria that causes tooth decay (remember xylitol gum?). The only reasons I didn't give this order 5 stars is that this is a super fine powder version of xylitol. I've never seen any brand this fine. Every other, including the old Orange and yellow packaging from Z!nt Nutrition, was nearly identical yo sugar crystals. This works the same and tastes the same, and in fact, it might work better for things like making frosting. The only true negative is this new packaging has a defective ziplock bag. It's clearly a manufacturing defect in the bag. It's impossible to zip the bag closed because the one side of the bag that is supposed to have the two outer "tracks" that the opposite side's single track fits into is formed so tightly that it is also a single track. I had to use my fingernail to slowly pry open the length of the one side (and force out the super fine xylitol powder inside the track) and then I was able to properly close the bag. If you don't do that, you'll need to transfer your xylitol into an air tight container. I would strongly recommend that Z!nt Nutrition revert back to the old packaging.

Excellent product
Our family started using xylitol recently and we love it. I appreciate the fact that it isn't hard on my kids' teeth like sugar is. We are a family of hot tea drinkers and one child in particular had some tooth decay, possibly from drinking so much sugar in his hot tea. This child doesn't care for the taste of honey in his tea, but xylitol tastes just like sugar so it's an easy substitute. You just have to use more of it since it is not as sweet as sugar. Xylitol also looks just like sugar, except that the xylitol crystals are a bit larger. The size difference is not enough that the average person would notice. If you are looking for an easy way to cut back on the sugar in your diet, say in your daily cups of coffee, xylitol is a great choice. It is considerably more expensive than sugar, but it is easier on your teeth and blood sugar, so possibly saving you some medical expenses down the road if you drink a lot of coffee or tea in a day. This 5-pound bag from Zint is an excellent price and was just like the first xylitol I bought from another seller.

BETTER QUALITY and BETTER VALUE
I bought this brand because it was more affordable than the previous xylitol I purchased. As it turns out, this product has a MUCH better taste and texture than what I had tried before. Funny, I didn't even know that there was variation in taste and texture; I thought xylitol was xylitol. I'm thrilled, though. The xylitol crystal granules in this brand are a mix of sizes from a fat grain of rice to a fine table sugar. I find the larger crystals a pleasure to eat, reminiscent of rock candy. The taste of this brand is so much better, too, very much like sugar, and I wonder if maybe the last brand I bought wasn't derived from birch the way this brand is. The other brand's taste was extremely artificial and lab-tainted, and had that 'coolness' to it. Sugar is definitely not cool, so it was off-putting to have a sugar replacement carry too much 'cool' sensation. Serendipity-mine.

Zint Xylitol is an excellent, healthy sweetener
Zint Xylitol is an excellent, healthy sweetener. All natural and safe with only 10 calories per teaspoon. Looks and tastes just like sugar! It REALLY does taste like real sugar! My husband and I have been using it for awhile and love it. Our kids came over for dinner, and I sweetened the iced tea with Xylitol. I didnโt tell them until after they drank it, and they said they couldn't tell a difference in tea sweetened with Xylitol and tea sweetened with sugar. Great product! I had previously been using Stevia, because it has zero calories, but I found out it contains an ingredient called maltodextrin or dextrose (genetically engineered corn) which is a very unhealthy ingredient put in a product that would otherwise be safe and healthy. Another brand of Stevia is Truvia which contains a dangerous ingredient called erythritol. Pure stevia leaf sweetener without the added maltodextrin or erythritol is safe, but is much more expensive than Zint Xylitol. Stevia also has a slightly bitter taste like Sweet 'n Low and does not taste like sugar.

Tastes great, but clumpy
Great taste. Yes, it can cause gas and bloating if you are not used to xylitol, but the body adapts after you have eaten it for a bit. This product, unlike some other xylitol brands, dissolves well. However, it is very clumpy and can be hard to break apart, leaving little lumps in recipes that don't have enough liquid to dissolve the lumps, such as cake frostings, whipped cream, or no-bake cheesecake recipes.
