WORX WG518 12 Amp 2-Speed Electric Leaf Blower/Mulcher/Vacuum

Great investment. This leaf blower has made leaf collection so much easier. I have 1/3 acre yard with 10 mature trees so there are a lot of leaves to pick up in the fall. It is easy to convert between the blower and vacuum modes. I primarily use the vacuum mode. I’ve only used the blower to clean the drive before seal coating. There are two power seating and higher seating wasn’t strong enough to blow everything out of the cracks in my driveway. Works well as a vacuum and the collection bag is easy to install and remove. The strap is a little long and it doesn’t stay at the length I adjust it too. Little inconvenient but manageable. Wish the bag was little bigger though. The vacuum is strong enough to pickup leaves and some sticks but not too many rocks. I don’t put it too close to the ground though, just low enough to suck up leaves. The leaves are not mulched as finely as Worx claims. I’m able to put 3 bags of mulched leaves in a yard waste bag. I was probably only needed a quarter of the yard bags I would have needed if I didn’t mulch the leaves. I do like to use my lawn mower to mulch the leaves but the Worx Leaf Collector works well in the areas I can’t fit the lawn mower. I would recommend ear plugs when using the leaf collector. I’ve only had it jam up on me a couple of times. It’s easy to clear after you take off the bag so you can pull out whatever jammed the vacuum. Make sure you unplug the power before working on it. The quality seems good. And I like that Worx used a metal inpeller instead of plastic. Worked without any problems this past fall.

I almost never write reviews but every time I use this thing, I think “I should write a review”. I have 7 gigantic trees on my property. Fall is a nightmare. Last year, I could not keep up with the raking. I couldn’t. Not possible. I thought “there must be some kind of leaf vacuum out there”. And here it is. The first time I used it- I collected leaves for like an hour and I wanted to continue all day. It was pretty easy and satisfying to suck up all those leaves. It picks up most leaves, even wet ones. It’s also picked up pine cones and doesn’t break. It will spit out branches but I try to avoid those just in case. It’s pretty powerful and effective. The drawback which is hard to avoid- is that the bag gets super heavy. But it collects ALOT of leaves before being full. I don’t care for the strap on the leaf collector bag because I don’t use it and just trip over it. Otherwise, this thing is great. I haven’t used any features other than the sucking leaves up. I recommend it and would buy it again. I’ve also used it at least a dozen times now without any signs of it breaking down or not working. The bag is sturdier than I expected based on the other reviews. So yes, if you hate raking but have tons of leaves- don’t think twice about this one.

I bought this unit for the vacuum function and I'm pretty happy with how it works. It is light weight and appears to be well engineered. Assembling the unit was pretty simple until I tried to slip the extension onto the main vacuum tube. It was a very tight fit and at one point when the vacuum got clogged up (only happened once on the day I tried it) I tried to pull off the extension to clear the clog, but was unable to. Luckily, I was able to reach up into the extension and clear the clog of wet leaves with my hand quite easily. I ran the vacuum mostly on low speed, as I was clearing leaves from a surface of 3/4" stones and didn't want to suck up a lot of rocks. This worked pretty well, dry leaves sucked up easily as did most wet ones unless they were soaked and packed together. The impeller of the unit is made of metal and seems to be quite durable. I heard a few 'pings' as some rocks went through it, but they didn't appear to cause any damage. I like the way the vacuum bag detaches easily from the unit for dumping. If you try to dump the collected leaves into a disposal bag with the vacuum bag attached to the unit, it is rather awkward. Simply detaching the bag from the unit using the quick disconnect feature makes it much easier to handle and to dump without spilling. The zipper on the vac bag is pretty heavy duty and I am hoping it will prove to be durable long term. I researched and determined that a replacement bag could be ordered at a reasonable cost, and considering the low price of this unit compared to most competitors, it was a no-brainer purchase. One complaint I have is that the slot near the power cord, for anchoring the extension cord, is rather tight and requires a very sharp loop in the cord to insert it. You essentially double over the extension cord, jam it through the hole in the handle and loop it around the retaining hook. If you use the recommended size extension cord, you will have to double it up tighter than I like in order to get it into the hole. I don't like to bend my extension cords quite so tightly as it is rough on the insulation and wire. Otherwise, I am pretty happy with this unit and hope to get many good years of use.

Does a great job. Makes easy work cleaning up the yard. Well built product.

Well designed, good performance, I find it superior to other brands. The unit was supposed to come with a cord retainer ("The attached cord retainer prevents disconnection if snagged"). So the reason for this part is stated, it is displayed in one picture of the product, but it is missing in real life. If not false, it is erroneous advertising at least.

2 speed leaf blower/vacuum. No complaints. Seems robust enough & works well for the money spent. Would buy it again.

I;ve been using it as a snow blower works great, as long as the snow is fluffy and only a couple of inches, beyond that the large snow blower comes out, summer isn't here yet but the way it works for snow, I'm sure it will be ok for leaves too.
