The basic form of the skull is sculpted from wax and then cast in sterling silver. Then the work of applying the patina starts. This is a long process of countlessly applying and burning off patina until it builds up to look just right. For me, that is when the skull looks as raw as if it was just dug up from the ground. This more art then science, each piece that comes out of my workshop looks a bit different, every piece is unique.
