The media could not be loaded. The proportionally shorter handle and lighter weight make it easier to control and swing into the sweet spot than the 12.5 lb. hammer. It’s a great addition to the tool selection. It stands upright on it’s flat under the bench or beside the toolbox.The red wrap is soft enough for a good grip while wearing gloves, however, it’s soft enough to cut into the strike face and surrounding material if your swing hits any surface that isn’t flat.There was No vibration through the handle when swung at full force—vibration is a “deal-breaker”.(The technical term for the vibration that travels through a handle of a hammer into the hands, causing pain when an object is struck, is "hand-arm vibration." This phenomenon can lead to conditions like hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS) or vibration white finger (VWF) if exposure to such vibrations is prolonged and frequent. Employers and workers in industries where tools like hammers are used should be aware of the risks associated with hand-arm vibration and take appropriate measures to minimize exposure to it.)I recommend this product.

It moves heavy items with out much effort

Not too heavy. Not too light. Easy to either gently tap or swing with some force. QUALITY MADE IN THE USA!!!!!...Sure, I could have spent less buying a Chinese knock-off but, this will last until retirement in 10 years and after, I can pass it on! Besides, Chinese government sucks.

Just got it can't wait to use it

I had an Estwing engineer's hammer that saw some use for home and vehicle projects, but I was installing a new powdercoated bumper and wanted to make sure that I couldn't slip and accidentally chip the finish, even with a thick towel over it. This hammer is heavy enough to do the job, and won't leave a mark on finishes you'd prefer to stay intact. Hopefully will last for many more years of use!
