Plain Blank Unpainted Russian Nesting Doll * 5 pc / 4 in * Paint yourself * u-505.4

I ordered 3 sets of these to be used in a classroom lesson. The sizes widely varied from set to set. I had to write numbers inside each doll so that they would get put back together properly. In one of the sets, the very smallest doll is the size of a pea. In another set, the very smallest is the size of an almond.In another set, the second largest will only fit inside of one of the largest ones. It's too tall for the other two sets, but it is very tight fitting (circumference) in the ONE that it does fit in. I have painted them, but not yet shellacked them. I'm hoping that when I do add the finish, that it won't make the second one too much thicker, as not to fit inside the largest one.If you're just ordering one, this shouldn't be an issue for you. But if you're ordering more than one set, don't count on the dolls being interchangeable among the sets.

These are pretty difficult to get apart. Otherwise they are a nice base to start with for a project

These are very nice and smooth. Easy to open. Now I need someone to paint something on them to make them perfect.

I have a friend who loves nesting dolls and is a painter so this was perfect for her. It would have been nicer if it came in a little box or package of some kind because it just comes in a plastic wrap, but that's not a big deal when considering the price.

I was glad to find these as a stocking stuffer for my kids. They'll love the project. I appreciate the sizing. It's dainty and perfect for display.

We purchased these nesting dolls to paint with our kids so they could see how Russians paint theirs. We painted them to look like each of our 4 children and we still have one left in case we have another baby some day! Such a fun project!!

I was very excited to play with these. Love a blank slate! Well-built and tightly fitted. But then my neighbors got married, and as artistic and crafty people I knew they would love this...so I may have to order another for me!

Nice idea, however hard to actually paint because once they have a layer of paint on them (because of the type of wood it needs quite a bit of paint) you cant nest them again. I had to sand out the inside of all of them for my sister who I got them for, and we had a panic moment when she couldnt get one that she painted out from the other.
