This product was bought to be used in a high school STEM class. It arrived quickly with no problems. Pulling them out of the package, they were already calibrated and ready for use. The device is easy enough to use that there was very little instruction to be given on them for the students who had never seen anything like it before. They seem durable enough that I will get many years use of out them before I have to replace them in the classroom.

In all my years of playing music and having equipment I've never had a DB meter...I saw a guy in Venezuela use one in '78ish.... I saw one on C/list for like 15.00 $$ and was looking it up on the net and I saw one here in Amazon for such cheap that I said to my self.... Man... I need one of those... You see... I thought they were more expensive.. Well I saw some that were more and I thought... I'll try this one and see what'll it'll do.. As far as I know it works real good... I'll have to learn to use it tho.

It only had light use so I can't comment on its durability, but as a one-off tool it worked great. I was able to accurately measure the noise levels of my home's A/C compressor, which helped make a better decision about what to replace it with.(The black foam cover doesn't stay on well. Keep an eye on it. :) )

Easy to use and gives a good decibel reading. Has a max/min level so you know the highest and lowest sound recorded. It let's you gauge if you need to wear hearing protection or not.

I bought this Cadrim Sound Level Meter to help level the sound of the music I play. 😊 I like my music loud sometimes, but knowing that my husband has suffered hearing loss (not from my music, but from his work before retirement) and tinnitus has made me more aware, but I didn’t know how loud was too loud. I used this meter and I was listening at higher levels than I knew. I’m not going to stop listening to my music loud at least sometimes, but if I’m smart, I will check the level of sound to protect my hearing. It is extremely easy to use, runs on a 9-volt battery (one included), and is lightweight and a nice fit in the hand.

I bought this meter to measure gunfire db’s namely with and without a suppressor, should be within range listed however not goes over 83db. That is unless it’s a sustained sound like music or operating machines. If you’re buying this for the range, don’t bother

I am somewhat worried that the unit registers between 40 and 50 dB even in totally silent conditions. Should that not be closer to Zero?
