XBOOM Mini Portable Capsule Speaker with Rechargeable Battery and Enhanced Bass+ Resonator - Gold

 For something that is exactly the size of a golf ball, I am surprised by how great the sound quality is. Upon taking it out of the box, I was quite eager to test it out and, even though some of the songs that I have don't exactly sound right (referring to the middle) when they're being played from a tiny speaker, most of the tracks actually sound amazing -especially if they have tons of bass. Honestly, I was -and still am- a little skeptical of the product, but I had many of my doubts erased once I started using the speaker. Of course, the durability still comes as a question as well as its sound peak. So far, this has been one of the best things I have ever purchased from this site, so I just hope that it becomes one of the good things that do last. Finally, I hope to use it wherever I go because I enjoy forcing friends and family into listening to the music I love.Speaking of which, here's a video of when I first began to test it out (the bass can't really be heard that well, thanks to my iPod)...

This little speaker fits in the palm of my hand, and yet it has amazing sound. I was totally blown away by how much bass it is able to accomplish with the tiny resonance chamber it has. It comes with all the cords you need, and a little drawstring bag to store it in and keep it safe. I got it to use for my laptop because when it rains I cannot hear anything with just my laptop speakers. This little dynamo provides all the sound I need, and it has it's own volume control knob, which is a really nice feature. It feels like really good quality too, because it has decent weight to it. The short length of cord that tucks into the bottom was perfect for my needs, but anyone who needs longer length can use the cords that it comes with. The bottom cord also stays in its groove under the device really well, it never falls out by accident, so the cord it well protected under there at all times. It's amazing and I'm already recommending this speaker to everyone I know.

allows me the ability to listen to discs, especially my sleep recoreds without the encumberance of ear phones. the sound can be adjusted and after a while i notice that the clarity and quality lessens. I am careful with the delicate wires and do charge the capsule according to instructions. When this reduces the listening enjoyment I buy a new capssule. Hence I can't give this 5 stars, and maybe 4 is generous, but I do like the capsule when it is new.

Let me just preface this by saying that I am a music junkie and I have been for most of my adult life. I grew up in a house of music, with my dad being a huge collector of cd's and vinyl as well as a musician and naturally I followed suit. I've been through every genre in someway and I love too much to list. I've been a Music Director at a radio station in the past as well. Long story short, I know music.I bought this speaker primarily to have something I could plug my iPod into went outside doing yard work or hanging out with friends - same goes for inside the house too I suppose - just wanted to have something easy and on the go. I took a gamble on this, as it was so much cheaper compared to every other portable speaker you see out there today, and it wasn't a huge need for me anyway so I wasn't about to go after anything expensive. The reviews were great so I went for it. Gotta say - WOW! This little thing absolutely rocks. It sounds fantastic, is super portable, and has been very durable. I've yet to come across any issues and I use it more than I thought I ever would. Everyone I know comments on how good it sounds and how cool and tiny it is.Absolutely impressed. I'd be interested in seeing how much more sound you can get when you plug in a few together, which is another cool trick these little things can do. Trust me, don't spend more than you have to just because it's a big name brand - this thing will blow you away and as someone who knows and loves his music, the sound quality is fantastic.

The sound is certainly good for the price and the size of the speaker but one little important detail not in the description of the item (thought it does make it into some of the reviews) is there's a very bright light at the base of the speaker. For many people this may cause no concern but if you're considering it as a bedside speaker (such as I did) I'd factor this in to your decision. Unfortunately most electronics have some kind of light I personally find troublesome to sleep near. This particular light is bright enough to land a low-flying plane by so I'll likely return it unless I can rig it so as to conceal it. That being said the speaker itself is definitely sufficient.

These mini boom boxes perform as advertized (see demo set up video) and give great sound. Best of all they take up very little room. You can put one in your backpack to take on a trip to set up with you mp3 player or Ipod. No more huge stero box to lug around. I especially like using them in my car since my car speakers are good, but not great. I recommend having two for stero surround effect. These little babies pack a lot of sound into a small package. Love 'em.

This was a terrible product. I owned one of these several years ago and really loved it, but this sounds worse than my cellphone speaker. Its staticy and has a crackling noise going on. its also picking up radio signals. Really disappointing.
