Q: what is the seat height?

It's about 18" high or so. I can get the actual height if necessary.

Q: What are the dimensions of the seat itself? I want to sew a seat cushion.

The wooden seat itself is 42 inches long, 15 inches deep. There is air space (with the depth) from the back of the wooden seat to the wooden back rest. I would suggest waiting to sew your cushion until you have assembled the seat. That way you could decide if you want the cushion to be a little deeper than the 15" wooden seat itself. (My cushion is deeper, but I like it that way.)
