The Exo Terra Breeding Box is a clear plastic terrarium ideal for transporting terrarium animals or live foods. The box is stackable for display or breeding purposes. The special feeding door at the front of the lid allows access for feeding and watering, even when the units are stacked. This makes feeding easy and prevents stress since the unit does not have to be moved in order to access it. The angled ventilation provides optimal air-flow at all times, even when the unit is stacked.Over the years, Exo Terra has become the market leader in reptile products for the natural terrarium. This achievement was made possible by the philosophy of successful, continuous innovation, which has become a basic underlying commitment, a culture and an attitude. Exo Terra has designed and developed a wide range of reptile accessories, terrarium décor, and terrariums for a variety of reptiles and amphibian pets including bearded dragons, geckos, snakes, crested geckos, turtles, chameleons, leopard geckos, lizards, and frogs. Perfect!!
I use these for my terrestrial tarantulas. They love them!! Sturdy, easy to use, easy to pick up under the lip of the lid. Perfect.

Very nice, functional habitat box..
This is a well designed box. All the ventilation is in the lid, so it can be filled with water for aquatics. The low wide profile of the large box provides a fair amount of room for non-climbing species. The spacing of the ventilation grid is very narrow, so small critters or larger insects should stay in. The two feeding doors are a major strong point, since stacking is not very convenient if you have to "un-stack" any time you need access. The good size clear top door is nice also, and a light can be positioned over it if you want. Although it isn't a functional aspect, I also like the black color lids much better than the toy-like multi-color lids of other brands. The lids snap on and off easily. The only possible drawbacks would depend on what you wanted to put in them. There are no holes or notches for airline tubing or heater cords. I did figure out that a soft flexible airline tubing can be squeezed carefully through the clip portion of the feeding door- hard to explain, but it does fit and the door still closes securely. So I am able to put a small sponge filter in for crayfish. For snakes, I would probably not trust the snap-on lid to hold without some added weight/tape/elastic. For a heater cord, you could carefully clip out a couple of the vent grids if needed. The low profile doesn't make it good for a "display" habitat, although the plastic is very nice and clear, the view is limited.Overall, this is a very good quality and versatile product.

Would have been great, but...
Would have been just what I needed if not for the fact it showed up with one of the bottom corners already cracked and thus not waterproof. Impossible to tell for sure, but the shipping box looked undamaged, so it was most likely broken before shipping

Great for small or medium creatures
These containers work great for smaller to medium spiders, scorpions, centipedes and the like. I like how they stack, it makes it easy to show your collection in an organized display. The two feeder windows make access for adding food to the box easy, since you don’t have to move container to feed the creature inside. The top window/door is large enough to make cleaning the container easy as well. You don’t have to remove the top to take out even larger items, like rocks or wood hides if cleaning those is needed. The one drawback/problem I have with these containers is that on some of them the top can be quite loose fitting, making it easy for a larger animal like a giant centipede to escape from the container by forcing its body between the small gap where the top and bottom meet. ‘I added a small strip of gorilla tape along the edge of those container with loose tops and that seemed to fix the issue’.

My Asbolus verrucosus love it !
I just received seven blue death feigning beetles from a distinguished online bug retailer. They're already exploring their new home. This Exo Terra box is a top quality product. The lid snaps on securely but is easy to open and close. The viewing window on top is nice and big, bigger than some similar habitats that are larger in area. The window is also easy to open and close, because it's not a simple hinge that snaps shut -- there's an indentation on top for your thumb and index finger; you slide it back, then open. Of course I'm not going to use the little feeding doors on the sides of the lid (can use to put crickets in, for reptiles, etc.), but I tried them and they are easy to open and close too, and are secure. The feet on the bottom make it easy to lift (important if you have a heavy substrate). I've seen a similar product made by another company that was not nearly as good. I highly recommend this product. Though its main purpose is for baby reptiles, it's good for small invertebrates who don't need a tall terrarium.

Great Enclosure for Baby Reptiles!!!
Update: I bought a large one and loved it! Awesome enclosure. I used it to house two of my baby African fat-tailed geckos. I bought a second one to separate the fat-tails and decided to update my review. Don't get me wrong, still worth 5 stars!!!Pros:- like all Exo Terra products, the box is elevated to allow under tank heaters or heat tape- easy access through the top and side panels (one large panel on top, two smaller ones on the sides)- top can be removed easily if needed unlike some other brands such as Lee's- great ventilation for your pets- great viewing from all sides- stackable and sturdy when stackedCons:- top is a bit flimsy, just don't put a heavy object on top (it still supports another breeding box)- plastic (heavy duty), just wish it came in a glass option- the top opening panel for the second one I ordered was less stable, meaning when I open the panel, it sorta moves a lot because I don't think the hinges are well madeOverall, it still deserves 5 stars for such a great design. I really do hope they come out with a glass version and a better top. Thanks Exo Terra for another great product!!!

Perfect for tortoise hatchlings
4 stars for this portable enclosure that is ideal for tortoise hatchlings. Why 4 stars? The lid is made of a clear acrylic type plastic that needs to be treated with care, as it can easily fracture if stress is exerted. In any event, the black portion is ventilated and a small window enables one to open a hatch in lieu of removing whole cover. Expect any portion of the clear acrylic to get scuffed up or scratched by its inhabitants. If the scratching is acceptable, then youll appreciate this portable habitat. Otherwise, one should purchase one made of gleass but expect to pay a little bit more and expext more weight. For our purposes, this system is ideal for bringing tortoises out for a bit of daily sun, as it is light weight/drop in some greens thru available sunroof so tortoises can chow down, and everything is good to go/simple enough. Highly recommend for use in early stages of growth, as we will utimately tortoises to wander freely in yard as soon as they reach a safe stage of growth.

The first one arrived broken, but they sent a fast replacement
Nice for a small bioactive setup. I'm keeping very young, individual Dekay's Brownsnakes with powder Orange/Blue Isopods and Temperate Springtails. Almost a year in with great success!!

Dimensions misleading
Diappointed Please note that the dimentions listed include the size of the lid, therefore the 'floor space' is a lot smaller. at 26.5 cm x 16 cm x 10cm (H) ( advertised as 30.2 cm x 19.6 cm x 14.7cm).

Great tarantula enclosure
I use this to house my juvenile tarantula. She has been living in it for about a year now and it’s been great for her. It allows for plenty of substrate as she likes to dig, the ventilation is excellent and access is also very good via the top sliding lid, side feeding slots and the whole lid can be removed as well. Even got room for a little decor :)

Sting loves it!
I got this for my Scorpion and he seems super happy and relaxed, he’s got plenty of room to do the things he loves like burying his water dish. It’s fantastic, super sturdy and easy to open/close when it comes to feeding. Will be getting the same for our tarantulas!

Brilliant for what we needed it for!
Great, sturdy box. Perfect for its purpose: feeding our Royals separately to avoid them eating each other by accident (yes, it has happened... 2 snakes going for the same mouse and the bigger one accidentally nearly eating the smaller one...)We just pop one of them in this box, throw the mice in with each of them, then put the box inside the big tank and once they have both eaten their mice, we open the lid on the box and don't even have to handle the Royal after he's obviously just eaten, he can come out in his own time. This has made life so much easier, and it is much healthier for the digestion now that he's not being handled so quickly after eating. This will also be a great option for when we need to transport them, much easier to carry and takes up a lot less space.

Really handy to have
I bought this box for my corn snake so I'd have somewhere to put him when cleaning out the vivarium. It will also be handy if I ever need to transport my snake.I would definitely recommend it. It's a good size to keep a corn snake in for a short period of time and seems really secure - the lid slides and locks in place. It also isn't too large so really ideal for storing in a flat with limited space.
