Why would these pucks not lock into each other rather have smooth surface to surface contact. Clearly this is a unstable design.

These are designed to be used on top of a floor jack - not to be stacked one atop the other. I use them on a lift (with 4 contact points on the car) to avoid damage to the drip rail on the underside of the car but there is no need for these to lock into each other.

The bottom of the pucks are smooth. Top just has the slot as you see. No other features or indentations exist on them.

Doesn't someone make one of these for a jack with a 3.75" inner size on the 'cup' of the jack? I don't like all the space around these.

Check on Amazon for a “Universal Floor Jack Rubber Pad.” These can fit over or within various jack cups…. It generally snaps around the medium cups and sits inside the large cups (3.5-4.5”)…. It works great!
