Calista Pro Grip- Black
Got another size at QVC and they ran out of this size. Had been waiting for it to return. Glad I found this one, but VERY pricey. After I got it, item back on Q for half the price and colorful style choices. It is more of a finishing , smoothing tool. I use it for “next day” after shampoos also. It is a little slower to immediate give temp reading but if hold button down and give it second - the temp ( 365-395) will appear in the window from blank fade to clear temp reading. In real bright light , temp window did look blank. In dimmer light ( away from sunny window) as hold button to turn on, it comes up gradually rather than pop up. As in seconds, not minutes. Heats up- I let mine heat up as put makeup on- (toggle temp desire when starts up at 365) I have above shoulder , tendency to wave, hair length bob , so I use to smooth, straighten and crown lift with product. You do have to give it a minute to hold Barrel in hair to get results. So it’s not a really fast tool. Barrel is coated so no burn issues good for me and better for hair. The higher temp is quicker and I use product to protect hair. Probably takes little longer that other tools, but seems less damage. I like that aspect of it. Only issue was expensive price.

Smooths the frizz, removes the danger of burns.
I found this tool referenced on a blog, read the reviews on Amazon next and after some thought, gave this a try. This is my new go to tool. I have fine, long, naturally curly hair. It loves to frizz with the lightest touch of humidity. I normally use a large barrel curling iron. I think I would have to really try to burn myself with this tool, unlike my curling iron. It smooths my hair quickly without flattening it. I have all kinds of bounce and body, and smooth waves. It heats up quickly - the package says 3 minutes, but as I use the lowest setting, it is faster. It comes with a cleaning tool - a comb would do, but the tool is nice for removing hair from the barrel. It also comes with a travel bag which I am looking forward to using next month. I have another cruise coming up - we will see how my hair holds up but for day to day use - this has been fantastic. Well worth the money! If you have short hair, buy the smaller barrel, but for shoulder length or longer, the large barrel is probably better. After I used it again today - if you read the materials, you know you have to hold the on button for a full 3 seconds to turn on. I LIKE this feature as it also means I cannot accidentally turn it off as I am working on my hair.

it's fine but I have a lot of it
I have extremely curly and frizzy hair, it's fine but I have a lot of it. It's been so difficult finding something that'll style my hair without having to round brush it for 2 hours and when I straighten it, it's very flat. When I first started using the brush, I didn't think it would be hot enough for my hair. However I quickly found out that with some maneuvering and correct use of the brush it's actually perfect. It's enough heat to style your hair, but not so bad to damage it as much as other heat styling products. The one thing I will warn you about is that my hair got stuck in it the second time I used it. It was user error and not the brush as I used too big of a section of hair. I unplugged the brush and my husband used the pick that the brush comes with to lift up the hair. I was horrified, but that's when the lower heat came in as my hair was not fried like it could have been. The finish is smooth and shiny and you can do it as straight or curly as you want. I use it just as I would a round brush and in the morning I touch up the hair around my crown and it looks full of volume, shine, and body.

Great Product, wonderul for the "curling wand" challenged.
I made this purchase because I am terrible at using a regular curling iron, too many burns. The Perfecter has a larger tip on the end and gives me something to grip, keeping the tool from touching my face or head. Also, it is a wonderful alternative to curlers and the dreaded "crinkle head" as a result of curler clips. I have THREE expensive hot curler sets currently. All have the "claw" type clip to hold the curler in place, and even tho each set claimed the clip would NOT cause the "crinkle head" effect, not true. Using the Perfecter eliminates that issue. The Perfecter is easy to pack. Very light and takes up very little space. Important for anyone who travels on a regular basis. Lastly, I have thick wavy hair. I was concerned that my hair would get all tangled up in the "teeth" on the Perfecter. something that has happened to me on more than one occasion trying to use a brush and blow my hair out. I have not had any issues with tangling or not being able to pull the Perfecter through my hair. Very happy with purchase.

Works great! But missing a piece
I bought this as a birthday gift for my mom. It was a replacement for her previous calista tool which had some visible wear and tear.Mom LOVES it. So easy to use. The ONLY issue is the “cleaning tool” that should have been included was missing. I wonder if they can mail me the cleaning tool.

Best purchase I have ever made!
Quite possibly the best $99 I have ever spent in my life!! I just received my calista perfecter pro and am in absolute awe! I have very thick curly hair and for years, I have been a slave to my flat iron. But let's face it, straight is out and volume and big curls are in! I have always wanted to give my straightened hair waves, curls, or just plain body but I am not talented enough to use a blow dryer and round brush or a curling iron. So one day I was on amazon and stumbled across the perfecter and decided to give it a shot. Let me just say this tool is AWESOME!!! Not only is it easy to use but my hair looks like I just left the salon with a fabulous blow out. I am so happy about this purchase and I doubt I will ever use my straightener again, so as long as I get to use my perfector! Please don't ever stop making these!!!

1 inch Perfector is a GEM!
I just received my 1 inch Calista perfector. The 1/2 inch and 3/4 were too small for my short but growing out hair length. I have very fine hair but a lot of it that tends to friz in hot humid Florida weather. The perfector smooths my hair into a sleek bob with lots of shine. I pair it with Living Proof Full shampoo and conditioner, their thickening cream then top with Kendra hair spray and a touch of Calista embellish finishing spray. Love the results!
