I am impressed by the quality of this mat, as well as the performance.The primary advantage this advertises over others is the ability for the board to "heal" scar marks. I have used many products that have claimed this, but other than end grain maple hardwood, I have not used any product that has actually done it, until now.While this board does not heal as well as end grain maple, it does a surprisingly good job. By doing this, the service life of the mat is extended (as scar markings eventually ruin a mat/board and make clean cuts no longer possible). So in the long run, this mat could save you money with a longer service life over other products.The overall build quality is excellent, and I clean the mat using a disinfectant (accelerated hydrogen peroxide) in which it has held up very well to being cleaned with.Another plus of this mat over others I have used is that it is very easy going on knife, razor, and utility blades. It slows the speed in which they dull at, which is convenient if you use this kind of product a lot.The only downside I see is the price. It's not cheap, but it is a well-made product that holds up to usage, has border lines on it which are super useful for many different applications, is easy-going on cutting tools, and lasts a long time. So to me it is worth the price.

I love this mat and did not expect how much I would like the reversible colors. It helps keep a mindset for cutting certain materials or not at all, such as keeping the black side for no cutting. Primarily for x-acto blade work, the cutting/self-healing is barely noticeable but I will wait and see how it holds up over time, which from initial use looks to be years.

Excellent quality, and I especially like that the full measurement scales are printed along all four edges. That’s essential for lineup of your steel ruler for cutting paper.I also really like that both sides (green on one side, black on the other) are fully printed with the markings. This ensures that if you happen to gouge the mat (I’ve done it with past mats) with over aggressive cutting of difficult things, then you’ve got the fresh other side.It arrived in a timely manner in a big box rolled once. After a couple of hours it’s now flat as can be on my table.No complaints! Yes, a bit more expensive, but the quality is there and as I said you’ve basically got both sides to fully use in case one side gets damaged.

I've not used a self-healing cutting mat before, so this is my first experience with one. I'm not sure if "self-healing" is supposed to mean the cuts are no longer visible after a little while or if it's just supposed to mean the surface stays mostly smooth to the touch. Having used an x-acto knife for several craft projects on this mat now, I will say this. I could write a note with the paper laying on the mat and not have bumps in my writing, however, it looks very scratched up. I personally don't care much about it looking worse for wear and I wouldn't mind if I couldn't write on it (it's not what it's for anyway - I just happen to leave it out at my work-desk so it sometimes gets written on). I wish I'd known the cuts wouldn't totally disappear before I started out using the black side because it looked nicer on the desk, but hey, it is what it is. It's been left out for a bit over a month now and it still has a slight odor of chemical/plastics to it, but the horrible smell it had when I first opened it has mostly abated.I'll probably buy another one when this one inevitably eventually wears out. It was inexpensive, looks nice, and gets the job done.

I bought this for cutting on when using clay or metal clay for jewelry or button projects. Perfect size!

It's big, sturdy, double sided, and fast at self-healing. Bought this as a replacement for one lost in a move and would definitely buy another. Highly recommended for all crafters out there.
