Keypad works well
Replaced old 19 yr old keypad & new one works well after erasing old codes & reprogramming. Instructions work well.

The first door set up easily, but the code on the second one would ...
The instructions were not real clear, but after reading them a few times, I was able to figure out what the various buttons were. The first door set up easily, but the code on the second one would not take. A call to the local garage door company resolved that problem (the buttons were sticking). My neighbor had the same problem with the unit I got him. Both panels work great now.

Replacement
The garage door people are not supplying these replacements in our area. Our original keypad stopped working. This new one is identical and works fine.

Easy to install, but programming was a little cranky
I wondered if I would have to wire-in this panel. Fortunately, I did not. It was VERY easy to install since I was replacing a panel like this that had stopped working. The programming was a little cranky. It took several attempts to get the panel to recognize my PIN. The keys are very squishy and I found it challenging to press them in a way that would actually activate the key. It took me a few tries, but eventually I got it to work. There are a few videos on Youtube that are helpful with this.

Perfect Replacement - Great Value and Service from Home Controls
I purchased this wireless keypad from Home Controls and highly recommend them. This keypad is a replacement for the original eight year old one that was "balky" at best. I would have to enter the numerical code sometimes 2, 3 or more times before either of the garage overhead doors would open. I got tired of standing in the rain or snow, entering & re-entering the code before the door would go up or down Figured it was time to order a new one. Went to a local dealer who said he could order one but it might take 2 weeks. Decided to look on the net and found a direct replacement from Home Controls at less than 1/2 the quoted dealer price (shipping included). I placed the order and shortly thereafter received an email from the company asking if I was sure this was the correct replacement. (There are two keypads that look similar but operate on different technology.) I responded to the questions asked and I indeed had ordered the correct one for my door operators. 2 days later I received the unit, programed it and it works perfectly. I find it refreshing that a company would take the time to insure you receive the correct item rather than just shipping what you ordered. They even give you their phone number if you have any ordering or tech questions, that is answered by a real live person. Kudos to them...I put them on my "A" list for this and similar other items they sell.Problem solved...Aggravation factor solve...Blood pressure down!

It Works!
I wanted a keypad for my garage door to help me not lock myself out of the house. This was compatible with my 1997 AllStar Garage door, and so far it works great.

Love when i can cancel i service call and make a repair myself
this was easier than i ever imagined it would be to install. after actually reading the instructions it took less then 2 minutes to program this to both of our garage door and it worked perfectly. I did have a garage door repair company scheduled to come and do the repair but decided it was smarter and way less expensive to see if it was just a broken part. It was. I got lucky this time.

Need better product explanation
This product information did not say that it would not work with a unit with dip switches. My unit does not have a learn button.
