Chicken Soup for the Soul: Tough Times, Tough People: 101 Stories about Overcoming the Economic Crisis and Other Challenges

This was written for the great recession. But I think there is a lot about this that is perfect for 2020. Because this year has been really bad and I needed to see stories of faith and things getting better and people making it through difficult times. I'm going to keep praying that I can make it through these difficult times.

Here is another Chicken Soup book which feels like medicine for the soul. The authors of this story aren't just writers--they're magicians, turning despair into hope with hard work and fervent prayer. They are the victims of domestic violence, natural disasters, economic downturns, unexpected crimes, and health crises. They think of problems as challenges and attack them with strong wills and loving hearts. My tears just kept coming. It's one of those books that makes me say, "How in the world can I complain when these people survived such seemingly insurmountable problems?" There are ideas here in case you are ever in similar situations. Very inspirational, very interesting, very stirring. Thanks to the Chicken Soup people for, once again, inspiring us to greater heights in our daily lives.

Another well written book.

I could not put this book down. I thought the stories were great to read during these tough economic times. There were a few stories, however, that left out some important details which would have made for a better read (more interesting and/or a better ending). These stories just left the reader wondering, "Well" ... But I would recommend this as a good book as, for the most part, many if not most were good to read.

I read these books to my wife who has altzheimers and is in a nursing home every day and she likes them.

Good book with wonderful stories! Some make me cry, some make me irritated, some give me hope for humans in general but they are all good stories!

I am usually a big Soup fan but this book didn't do it for me. I feel the title is misleading. The majority of the stories are about overcoming cancer or other health challenges, not the economic crisis. The ones that are about the economic crisis are so edited and short i felt something was left out and they were not very good. Wait for this book to be about $3.00 and then it might be worth it.
