I can't say whether or not it works 5x faster than anything else, since I won't intentionally injure myself to test, but this is a good product worth having in a first aid kit that can handle more than minor boo-boos

Good for upgrading your first aid

I am on 2 blood thinners. When I cut/gouge myself, getting the bleeding to stop can be very difficult. This product is what I consider a life saver in some cases, aas it does clot the wound & stops the bleeding. I highly recommend this product!

Something good to have, safe for pets, trimmed my dogs back nail and got his quick, I was able to apply / hold against his paw, and it stopped the bleeding

Quik Clot is amazing! Definitely works! My husband and I have CPR, First Aid, and Stop the Bleed training. We keep Quik Clot in all of our first aid kits (home, car, work). Unfortunately, we have used it more than a few times. Yesterday, we came across an old man on the ground who had fallen and split the back of his head open. There was about 8 oz of blood on the pavement when we arrived. We got the first aid kit out of the car, applied firm pressure with the Quik Clot layer closest to the wound. By the time the paramedics arrived, the bleeding had completely stopped (they took off the layers of gauze and it didn't re-start). I immediately ordered more and it arrived 2 hours later (I joked that maybe Amazon could have gotten it delivered to the scene of the accident). Another time, we used it when someone broke half an ax blade off into their arm and it stopped the bleeding. It's expensive (compared to regular gauze), but when there someone is really bleeding, it's what I want to find in the first aid kit.

This was an exact replacement for my first aid kit. Hopefully you will never need it but if you do it works like intended.

Classic packing gauze, except it is marketed (and illustrated on the package) as something to be applied on top of the wound. That could definitely work, but main reason for getting a packing gauze, is to get a packing gauze! And it may be used in conjunction with just packing that joint cavity wound with a simple sterile gauze, putting the blood stopper on top. Just listen to your first aid instructor (certainly not me - I just have an opinion), and buy more of these - they are good.

Lifesavers if you are on blood thinners. These provide instant clotting to small cuts or scrapes that won’t stop bleeding.
