Just amazing
This is a review of Highams Weighted Blanket 8kg for Adults. I purchased this because I had been struggling with anxiety and poor sleep for months, and after reading about the benefits of weighted blankets for deep pressure therapy, I decided to give this affordable option a try. I like to use this for sleeping at night, as well as draping it over me while relaxing on the sofa during the evening to help unwind after a stressful day. What I like about this product is the even distribution of the glass beads in the quilted pockets, which prevents any clumping and provides consistent pressure across the body. The soft cotton fabric feels comfortable against the skin, it comes in a generous 150 x 200cm size that covers a double bed well, and the grey colour is neutral and stylish. My experience using this product is very positive. From the first night, I noticed falling asleep faster and waking up less often, with a real sense of calm and security from the gentle weight. It does get quite warm, which is perfect for cooler nights but might be too much in summer. The build quality seems solid, with no beads leaking after several weeks of use. For the price, it offers excellent value and has genuinely improved my sleep quality. I would recommend it to anyone dealing with insomnia or anxiety.

Heavy and comfortable.
Other half loves this help them sleep, said it was the weight over them that made them feel more relaxed. I personally found it too heavy for me but I only like lightweight bedclothes on me. Only downside if it's pushed off one partner it sits in the middle like the Berlin wall but hey ho.

Aaron says Yessss
I recently bought this weighted blanket to improve my sleep and provide me with an artificial hug. Its 8kg weight worked, as I’ve not been able to get out of bed for three days. Luckily, I was rescued from my predicament when my flatmate and three friends came into my room and took a corner each. Whilst trapped like a modern-day pharaoh interred in expensive fabric, I was able to reflect on the high thread count and quality stitching of each quilted patch. My only concern arose of the glass beads used to fill the blanket. If there was a fire, would they melt leaving me entombed like a ship in a bottle? Whilst far-fetched, the blanket is so warm that spontaneous combustion presents a real risk, and the artificial hug the blanket provides is most welcoming, as any contact with your bed partner is likely to give you a boil-in-the-bag rice experience. Luckily, the glass beads don’t clink like bottles of beer at a Berlin stag do, so the blanket is quiet during the night. The grey colour works well with existing bedroom furnishings, and will seamlessly match the happy user’s lips after a night of asphyxiation under this weighted blanket. Thankfully, this was all simply a fleeting dream brought about by quality slumber. Highly recommended.

Love this blanket!
I love my weighted blanket! I initially bought one for my stepson who has autism and he loved it calms him down makes him sleep much better, i tried it and liked it so I ordered one, i would say although its soft it isn't your snuggly type of soft and would be better with sheets, all round nicely made and of good quality, it keeps you warm at night i ordered queen size which is around the same size as a single quilt so bear that in mind when ordering. If you have anxiety, sleep problems, insomnia etc and you are thinking about buying one i definitely would as I feel so relaxed and can fall to sleep so much easier and sleep longer definitely worth the money, mine is 6kg its very heavy but not uncomfortable (i would actually like mine heavier)

I usually don't leave reviews
I usually don't leave reviews, but as I was hesitating to buy this product for a long time myself, I thought to leave my opinion to maybe help someone decide as I am mad at myself that didn't order this earlier. As I said , I was taking my time till I actually made an order as I am insomniac for years now who struggles to fall asleep and to stay asleep, whatever I would try , wouldn't help unless it's sleeping pills. So I ordered this blanket 8kg, (my weight is approximately 68kg) for myself and my best friend who was recently starting to complain about bad nights too. I don't know what kind of magic it is, but we both actually have started to sleep well, I sleep through the night without waking up not even once!! And I fall asleep in minutes too. I don't feel that it is warm enough, I use another blanket on top as I love to be warm , but overall I am very happy with this product. No issues in quality either, I've put the blanket in a cover and use it as a normal blanket to sleep. Can't be happier with it although I've been sleeping with it approximately 3 weeks now, I think I would want eventually go for even heavier one but it is doing the job perfectly. Hope this helps someone as I can't imagine my nights without it now.

Undecided
The jury is still out on this one after about 10 days use. I'll start with the facts. The double size is smaller than a standard double bed; if any bits overhang there is a risk the blanket will fall off pulling the duvet with it. To work effectively it needs to be bigger so it can overhang equally and the weight holds it in place. I am using it on top of a normal weght duvet in late autumn; it has not significantly added to the warmth which seems odd. The cotton fabric is nice and soft. Washing instructions say handwash in cold water with no suggestion of how to dry; line dry or flat? Do not bleach, dry clean or tumble dry. It weighs 8kg because of the size. Obviously a smaller size will weigh less. Perhaps these should give a weight per area measure instead for accurate . Does it work? I did not feel snuggled, embraced or any of the touchy feely claims. I actually felt i had been weighted down, like i imagine when someone buries your body in sand at the beach. In that sense, not particularly pleasant. But i have slept better; it makes movement more difficut and normally I toss and turn for ages before dropping off. The weight makes me more aware of that so i am stiller and sleep has been more refreshing. At about £30 it is worth a go if you have trouble sleeping Update: Back to my old disturbed sleep pattern. I got the blanket just after i broke a bone in my leg and i think it may have been the brace that kept me stiller not the blanket. Now i have healed i am back to tossing and turning and the daily stress. Update. Oct 2022. An added and very welcome bonus of this blanket is its thermal properties. During our summer heatwave i slept under a sheet and this and was surprisingly cool. As we moved into autumn i still didn't return to a duvet and it kept me at a comfortable temperature. I am now pulling the duvet over the top only if i feel particularly cold. I would raise this to 4* for this alone.

amazing for price and for autistic comfort
I haven’t had a weighted blanket before but i got this to try. i wasn’t expecting a lot based on how expensive others tend to be but i really like this. the blanket is covered in pockets and each one full of little beads. they do all kind of fall into the corner of the pocket but u don’t mind that as it’s kind of a stim for me. totally would get again and has been a total game changer for me in life
