Box of 3/4" Boards of Red Alder

I wasn't sure exactly what I was going to get (isn't that the idea?). I was a little disappointed at first. There was a LOT of thin wood. So thin that it bends with even the least bit of pressure. It was probably half thin wood, and then half a little bit thicker. All 12" in length-ish, with varying widths and thicknesses.I did figure out that if you glue some of the thinner stuff together you can get an interesting plywood-type wood, and you can mix the colors. It worked out pretty well, so I'm happy! I wish I would've known ahead of time how much thin stuff would be in there because I probably wouldn't have ordered it. Oh well, live and learn. Still fun!EDIT: I'm a dummy and ordered the box labeled "Thin Wood" so I can't complain about that, haha. Came as described. Will buy again!

I LOVE IT! I got a lot of really thin ones but because I bought it for wood burning art, it worked perfectly. I used to buy wood from Michael's or other art supply stores but not anymore! I'll totally buy this instead from now on. The box is completely packed that it wouldn't fit another paper. Awesome deal!

Awesome variety of scrap woods. I ordered the thins and was glad to see my box loaded with at least 7 different wood types. Perfect for small projects. The box was beat up in shipping but didn't seem to damage any of the wood.

Took longer for delivery than expected. However, when I contacted seller that I hadn’t received my package, I had a prompt reply and package then shipped quickly. I ordered thin scraps. Thickness varied from 1/8 inch to 3/4 inch. Almost all were roughly 12” long, anywhere from 3” to 10” wide. Several different species of wood. Some sanded and some not. I’m using these to write prayers and Bible scriptures on to place in between studs before insulation and Sheetrock on our new home. I started out writing on the lumber directly but now it’s the heat of summer. This is a good option to get to trickier spots and placed quickly while I prepare the wood at my leisure, at home, in the a/c. Great quality and variety for the price. Much better than cheap quality craft wood for virtually the same cost.

I’ve bought from Woodchucks awhile now. Very pleased with all I’ve gotten. Boxes are full and half the enjoyment is finding out what’s inside. I do a lot of scratch modeling, model railroad, birdhouses, puzzles, etc. Some cuts have bark attached. If you’re creative these are great boxes to have. If you need something specific send him a message. If he has it...you got it! You can’t beat the price or consistent quality.

The amount of wood you get for your money is incredible. I only had one problem , the types listed weren't in the box it was all pale woods and I was counting on some color like walnut and peduk but it wasn't there and when the box shows in the photos it shows at least some color in each box.

I purchased this to cut on my 5 watt blue diode laser, but most of the pieces are thicker than my machine can handle. However, they will be good for engraving. There were about a dozen boards (mostly walnut) that are thin enough for my machine (3/32"), but they have some warping. I will still be able to use them for things like earrings and smaller projects. Can't really complain for what amounts to a low cost grab bag of wood.

I know it all depends on the day and what the scraps were like, but I didn't get a very good box. My entire box was rough-sawn wood, none of it sanded, the entire box except for one piece was all pale woods. Some were warped, but not too bad. Most of it should be usable for something, just going to require a lot of sanding.
