I've used many biners over the years and this is my favorite to belay with. The wire at the bottom is a much easier mechanism that the Black Diamond Gridlock, which I hate. This is essentially the same biner as everyone's favorite Petzl Attache, which should come as no surprise since Rock Exotic made the Attache for Petzl for years!

The spring loaded clip is great to keep the rope where it belongs. It has a good deal of tension so whatever you are keeping in there won't come out very easy. It is better than a fixed eye I think, because you can put a wider variety of attachments on it.We just got a few Rock Exotica climbing products and they are pretty nice, they have innovative features no one else has.Most of their stuff is a little on the heavy side.They have some pretty cool stuff that no one else has.We have a magnetic locking carabiner they make. I love that! It works so easy when you want to unlock it and it seems really secure. After you use it, all of the other locking carabiners will stay at the bottom of the bag.
