I luckily have a sit/stand desk which allows me more flexibility in ergonomic positions while at the computer. I decided to turn to the internet to see what activities were available to me. I quickly decided that a wobble board or balance board was something I would be interested in. Important factors I wanted: made from wood (it's rigid and won't warp compared to plastic), it has grip tape on the top, and isn't too easy or difficult (this is based on the shape of the fulcrum and the angle it makes when one of the edges are touching the floor). Spoiler: You will learn that this wobble board meets all the criteria.Pros:The board itself is made up of .75" lightweight plywood, this is a great thing, it's sturdy but yet not excessively heavy. The top of the board is lined with a grip tape akin to that of a skateboard but slightly less course. You can use this with shoes or barefoot without any issues. Even the clear part is grip tape. The fulcrum of the wobble board is made of strong black plastic. I was initially worried that it might warp or buckle if a larger person were to stand on it, but given the quality of the plastic and the shape this has not happened. There is a slight flat spot on the apex of the fulcrum which I initially didn't care for, but honestly I haven't noticed it much at all. I tried measuring the angle of the board and it was around 16-17 degrees, which puts it in the intermediate category as far as angle is concerned. There are other factors that determine the board's difficulty like fulcrum shape, and diameter of board. The Fitaboo Wooden Wobble PRO Balance Board from Elysian Creek is very well made and easy to use. I recently had partial knee replacement surgery and this balance board has been extremely useful in helping to safely build up the muscles in my knee. The top of the board has a gritty coating on it to prevent my shoes from slipping off the board while I'm trying to balance on it. I am well pleased with this product and will be happy to order other products from Elysian Creek in the future!

Bought this for my 12 year old son for Christmas but our whole family loves it! Have other kids aged 7, 9 and 14 as well, and we have used this board most of the day each day since Christmas. My kids keep coming up with new ways to use it and the best part is that they are exercising, stretching and helping their core without even realizing it because it is just so fun! Quality of board is great, and it has a non slip surface that is extremely helpful. Also, it comes with a carrying case and it is extremely portable. We already took it to my parents with us and the other grandkids loved it too, even the adults were taking turns using it. Worth every penny.

I RECENTLY HAD SPINAL SURGERY AND AFTER BEING OFF MY FEET FOR SOME TIME, MY ANKLES ARE VERY WEAK. THE REHAB CENTER WHERE I GO FOR LEG AND ANKLE STRENGTHENING USES THE SAME PIECE OF EQUIPMENT, I ORDERED THE SAME THING WHICH I PLAN TO USE AS SOON AS MY REHAB IS COMPLETED. I HAVEN'T USED THE ONE THAT I ORDERED FROM YOU BUT I CAN SAY THAT THE ONE USED AT THE REHAB CENTER IS A MARVELOUS PIECE OF EQUIPMENT. I AM STILL STRUGGLING WITH IT BUT I AM DETERMINED TO MASTER IT. It's a little too high for me. Probably ok for someone younger. It slides so i bought at hardware store "surface grip" to put on bottom of it. Helps. I was using a similar board in physical therapy and can see how it helps in balance and strength. I'm not sorry i bought it cuz i use it.

We love it. It sits out in the living room and everyone just takes turns standing on it whenever they want to - fun and challenging. Love that it's wooden and sturdy. My youngest is into baseball where balance is a key element. He's good on it and can do some mini squats and such. He apparently has worked with a similar piece of equipment in his gym classes at school. I on the other hand have a hard time just standing on it while holding on to something! That's great for me as I need some knee/balance work and this is low impact yet fun way to get a little work in without straining myself. So love that it's fun and useful for all fitness levels. Big hit as a Xmas gift for my whole family.
