Kitty Shack - 2 in 1 Tube Cat Mat and Bed, Pet Accessories

My cats have enjoyed many of the cat pads that have that reflective material that reflects body heat back. Based on reviews here and there, I thought this Kitty Shack 2 in 1 cat mat would be ideal. Think again !When zipped up, it is okay-ish for a small 6-7 lb cat. If your cat is larger, the fit will probably be too confining. Laying flat, my cats are not that keen on it; tried it -- they go back to the end of the sofa. It is NOT as plush (thick) as one might think from the picture. That extra plushness you see in the picture is ONLY around the outer edges; laying flat, it's about 3/8" to 1/2" thick. There isn't any noticeable crinkle noise.The zipper is small and not that easy to zip up. The zipper pull tab is of a cheap-ish quality.I bought two (2) of these from different sellers on Amazon. I'm not sure if I got knock-off products (several folks selling these on Amazon), but the Kitty Shack arrived folded inside a sealed, black plastic bag (inside the Amazon box) with NO instructions whatsoever, etc. If you didn't know it was supposed to also zip, you might be hard pressed to find the zipper.If you're looking for a self-warming cat pad, there are better ones than this.EDIT TO ADD (25 Oct): Washed both of mine last week on "gentle cycle" with wash cloths for balance. Both came out with quarter-sized HOLES in the beige material that weren't there before. Caveat emptor (buyer beware).

I guess I'm a little confused as to all the negative reviews. While it's true that my cats don't like it zipped, they love them opened up so much so I carry them to the bed at night and back to the livingroom in the morning. Mine is nice and plush, the zipper is like that of a pair of pants but it is a snap to zip (LOL ok I made that funny unbeknowst to me prior to typing that out... <koffs> sorry but I often crack myself up :D ) and it stays upright every time. I haven't washed mine, but I don't intend to so no gaping holes from that! Thank goodness. But it does vaccum up quickly and completely and they really do shed tons of hair on them. (I bought one for each kitter thinking they would like the cubbyhole to sleep in. I was wrong about that but they love the lounger version.) I haven't found a single thing wrong with the Kitty Shack. I bought mine right here at Amazon (like I'd shop anywhere else... HAH! Not a chance :D and no, they didn't pay me to say that LOL) So while some folks have really had a bad experience with their purchase, I've got nothing but great things to say about this product. My kitters love the silly things and, I do too cuz they do. So I recommend this highly to anyone looking to buy a Kitty Shack/Cat Mat/Bed. At least you get the option of using as something else if your kitters are like mine and want nothing to do with the shack end of things. Happy shopping! :D

Is your cat small? Do they like tight spaces? Do they not mind if their bed makes foil-like noises?If all of the answers to those questions are yes, then this is the cat bed for you.I have a larger cat, who I thought would fit snuggly in this bed. He can barely get his head and front paws inside when it is zipped up. He also does not like the foil-like sound it makes when stepped on or moved, so it's made an excellent cat deterrent for furniture or laps of folks who don't want to touch him.Then "Why," you scream into the void "why rate this as four stars?" Because I know many cats that would be suited well for this bed. My cat is not one of them. If it wasn't so good at deterring him, I might gift it out to a friend, but I've found so many uses, I just can't do that. Guess I'll have to buy them their own.

I have 3 sibling kitties. I bought one kitty shack to see if any of them would use it. They all loved it! Ordered 2 more so they each have their own. It's been about 6 months I have these Kitty Shacks, and 2 of them have started to collapse like flat pancakes, and making it impossible for the kitties to get inside of them. One is still good and standing up like a pyramid shape but like I said the other 2 lost their shape/, form. I tried to put sticks to hold them up but no luck. It's too bad, because my cats really loved these shacks. They can go in one way and out through the other way. They are very cozy inside. I may order 2 more again, because that's how much the cats loved these things.

Oh yall I bought this now don't laugh for my dog. He is such such a freeze baby, i thought well heck wonder if it keep him warm....oh if you have a dog that is a total freeze baby or a cat, you must buy them this, for this really does keep them warm, i just open it up spread across his bed and cover him with his blanky and he is out for the night. He knows what this is and when i wash and yes it holds up really good to washing to, I have had it for months and months. I keep this in his bed at all times and it does keep the fur off of things as well, you can place this on bed couch anywhere and it does keep hair off other places i noticed that to as well..I am ordering one more for the furniture cause he does sneak up on it lol, but if this is laying there yes he will go right for it....

This kitty bed and mat is very well made and if I were a cat I'd like it a lot. Unfortunately my cat didn't feel the same, and no attempts to coax him out from under the bed or chair—-both of which have a skirt at the bottom to hide him nicely when he wants to cat nap—or even the bathroom sink which nicely cuddles his curves, met with success. Since he esp loves stuffing himself into dark corners I thought the Kitty Shack would be a hit and I even tried closing one end with a plush kitty mat to make it more appealing but...he of the esoteric napping spots was not fooled.

Quality not great. This item disappointed my cat and he will no longer look at me.

My cat is extremely fussy and wont go in most cat beds I've bought. She refused to use this when set up as a cave or even flat on the floor, however I put it folded over 3 times on a window ledge above a radiator, and she absolutely loves it. Been using it like this for a few years now and she puts herself to bed on it in winter time, and it's high enough at the sides for her to rest her chin on and look out the garden. Can throw it in the washing machine to clean, and use a cat comb to get the hairs off in between. A winner!

On paper seemed like a goodbidea....Strange materials and Cats wouldn't go near it.Tried for a fair while to see if cats would relent...Returned for refund.

This does not stay up . So my cat won’t go in it. It doesn’t have any support to keep it from laying flat.

a lot better priced than I've seen on the main street use it as more a blanket for cat to sit on as she doesn't sure it as a tunnel.
