BandaiGreat Mazinger 1/100 Scale Model Kit

This is a model kit from the late 70s called Mazinga. One of 6 Shogun Warriors released by Monogram here in the US. Nice they still make it. Would like to see the other 5 for sale. But overall a great model and great service.

I didn't know what to expect however I was pleasantly surprised. The model looks nothing like the picture on the box. It's a retro model that looks a lot like a miniature shogun warrior figure. If you want it to look anything like the box you'll need paint. The plastic only comes in 3 colors and you'll need glue for most of the parts and you'll need a small screw driver for the arms. The arms are suppose to pop off but there is no trigger so you have to twist them untill they just fly off. It's a good buy for Great mazinger fans howevervif you are looking for something closer to gunpla you'll have to splurge a bit more.

Simple but fun build. Not really articulated at all but the spring fired rocket punches is fun to mess with and the kit does have a classic/retro charm to it as it was casted/printed from a 70s or 80s model kit design. Only to be appreciated by a true collector or if you just like classic style kits.

子供の頃、Ｚのプラモデルを持っていました。カム式で前進させる仕組みに大きな不満があり、グレートが出たら改善されるだろうと思い、期待したのですが、グレートもまたカム式だったので期待は失望に変わり、購入を断念しました。しかし43年の時を経てグレートを見たら、当時買わなかった事を後悔しました。Ｚはパイルダーオンすれば回路が繋がって歩く仕組みだったので、グレートもファイヤーオンすればのっしのっしとカム式で前進するのだと想像して購入を決断しました。が、またもや期待は裏切られ、深い失望に変わりました。電気回路の部品が欠如し、楽しみにしていたファイヤーオンができないのです。YouTubeに上げて下さったスーパープラモデラーの方々の映像を見て我慢します。しかし、箱の絵と完成時の形は昔のまま何ら変わりはないので、そのことには感謝して満足しております。
