These plates are great for a BBQ or outdoor event. The are very light and look nicer than plastic or paper plates. I have seen a few reviews from people who said they would wash and use these multiples time. Due to the thickness and durability, this does not seem realistic to me. It's an upgrade from a standard paper or plastic plate, but meant to dispose of after use.

I was very taken with the idea of disposable plates made from fallen palm leaves, but wasn't sure how well they would hold up under a meal of soft food. So, I ordered a package and tested a plate; I let it sit with food on it for about an hour, then rinsed it to see whether it would fall apart. Then I placed a little water in it and microwaved for about 30 seconds. Then I left the water sitting in it all night.Result: No problems. It stood up perfectly fine, with not even any warping.So, I ordered 140 of the 9.5-inch plates and 140 of the smaller ones for my granddaughter's wedding, which will be an outdoor affair held at a campground. (She is even more environmentally conscious than I am, so she was very happy about this.) We think her guests will be pleased, too. The plates are quite sturdy, attractive, and natural looking.

I bought these plates to use for an Eco friendly baby shower that I was asked to do for a friend's daughter-in-law. I am pretty happy with the plates, my friend loves them. The colors are really pretty and unique. The only thing is a couple of them have some speckles that look a little like mold, although I'm sure they are fine. I'm sure these will be a conversation starter at the shower, October 3.

We used the plates for a birthday party (for adults) - and they were a big hit! Love that they are compostable and stylish at the same time. Much hipper than paper plates. I was worried they might be flimsy or look cheap - but, whew! just the opposite. Lots of people commented on how cool they looked. And they are very, very sturdy I may add - like regular plate sturdy. We used the 91/2" plates for the main course and smaller plates for dessert. Perfect. The customer service by Thynk Art and Design was excellent. They delivery company messed up and a new order had to be sent. Thynk was very responsive and made sure the plates arrived in time for the party. They followed up with an email to check in, too.

Perfect for what I was looking for. The sizes are good and they are pretty sturdy. They look cool, too. I don't have storage place for a bunch of dishes so when I found myself throwing a dinner party for almost 20 people I needed a solution that was reasonably priced and wouldn't create a storage problem for me. I don't like plastic utensils or plates because I care about the environment so when I found these I was over the moon. I would recommend buying them early in case they're not exactly what you want, the texture isn't smooth so I'm curious to see how it's going to work out with sauces and mashed potatoes. That's negligible for me, though, I like them.

I ordered these for my daughter's birthday party. I was excited to find a unique eco alternative to paper plates. When they arrived I was a bit disappointed. They are thinner than I imagined. During the party, several plates cracked under buffet strain. I think I'll stick with the Susty plates next time - they are more durable and cheaper. Great concept but just didn't hit the mark.

I love these plates so much! I hate how disposable plates usually look and for my wedding since it was a destination wedding I needed something easy to transport but that also looked good and the bamboo is gorgeous. Our caterer provided dishware for the reception but these worked perfectly for the entire rest of the weekend (rehearsal dinner, cake cutting and serving, the farewell brunch, and we took them with us on our honeymoon sinc we were headed to a cabin in the mountains).... we also found out they're great fire starters! It was a wet weekend (thanks Hurricane Matthew) but we wanted to use the outdoor fire pit and my brother found that these worked perfectly.

It is odd to get compliments on disposable plates. Yet, that is exactly what has happened - and repeatedly. If you are looking to avoid dishes at get-togethers, be eco-friendly, and look super chic the whole time - then these are worth the price. When compared with other plates that are durable for sauces and other messy foods, these are comprable in price due to their unique and aesthetically-pleasing appearance.Side note: As what I think is a result of production and materials, each plate is slightly different in the the grain pattern. For me, this only makes them better!
