the Graphic Audio production is an excellent adaptation
I had already read all the Marvel Civil War graphic novel collections when I discovered Graphic Audio's production. I was looking for upcoming Marvel releases when this popped up.I don't normally listen to audio books because I can read so much faster. However, the ones I have enjoyed have had full casts, like this one. GraphicAudio also uses sound effects and music/score to enhance the story. I found it to be more like a radio show than "a movie in your mind," mainly because of the substantial use of a narrator. The audience can't see the characters, so there is a lot of description of what people look like or are doing to set the stage. The voice actors are all very good, and I had no trouble differentiating between the various characters. The story flowed smoothly. The full event encompasses 7 large hardcovers, so naturally a lot has been cut. Still, the adaptation is surprisingly faithful to the main event itself. Most of the cuts come from the tie-in material. Just as is the case with most book-to-film adaptations, the book is better. However, this audio production is excellent and a nice companion - even for those who have already read the graphic novels. I loved hearing the tone of voice when the characters were conversing; something you don't get with printed stories. At nearly six hours, this is a great option for long road trips. The story is a bit dark, so probably not good for the younger set but certainly teens and adults should enjoy it. Overall, this was very entertaining and I will definitely buy more titles from Graphic Audio, in particular the Marvel titles.Note: this Audio book is still available direct from the publisher, Graphic Audio, along with other Marvel and DC audio productions.

You will marvel at Civil War!
I don't read comics or graphic novels so I'm not overly familiar with the happenings in the original formats and cannot judge this novel in relation to them. However, as a stand alone novel this was a very well thought out and executed story. The story revolves around the introduction of a government act that requires all those with super powers to register with the government and to reveal their real identities. Iron Man is all for this and Captain America is completely against it. Various superheros pick their allegiance, with some changing sides as the story progresses, with the main crux of the story revolving around Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man and The Fantastic Four...although The Thing is really only a peripheral figure.I have to say that I couldn't put this novel down once I had picked it up...that's the last time I use crazy glue before reading a book! In all seriousness this is a page turner and once I got into the storyline I was engrossed enough to finish the whole novel in one day.I'm hoping there's a sequel in the works as there are a few loose ends that could easily make another novel such as the X-Men's role in this whole deal (they are only mentioned a couple of times in passing and play no part in the novel other than brief appearances by Wolverine at the beginning and Storm at the end) and what becomes of the characters whose stories hinted at further things to come. All in all this is a great read for anyone who is a fan of Marvel prose novels.

Good Job
The novelization of Civil War opens up a new chronology for the Marvel Universe. Small details are changed in the characters lives, one or two could be forgiven to perhaps the author's mistakes, but as much that was changed this is a new Marvel U.The story is tight and action packed. I'm certain much was cut to tighten up the story, but it wasn't missed.I hope that this is only the first of Marvel's novelizations of their series.

Definitely worth getting if you're a nerd like me who wants some general knowledge of the Civil ...
This book was definitely worth reading. For the most part, it was well-written, although you'll quickly tire of the "statuesque" descriptions of Ms. Marvel (seriously, the author must've had a thing for her). Lots of twists and turns and a really enjoyable read. Definitely worth getting if you're a nerd like me who wants some general knowledge of the Civil War series before the movie comes out.

Really enjoyed
I’m a mcu fan, grew up watching various marvel cartoons, but not a huge comic or graphic novel fan. This novel really captured the story of civil war. Would recommend for marvel fans who don’t like to read comics

A good read
This was a technically well written book, but it seems to me that there was just too much story to capture in one book There were many interesting things going on that were glanced over. Still, a good read.

an accidental purchase but still a great service.
Delivered in less than 12hrs I believe. New, so great condition etc.I believe I hadn't read the description correctly, and placed the order thinking it a comic book, which it isn't. It's basically the Script of Civil war, which is great. But not what I was looking for.. when I sent it back though, I was immediately refunded the same hour, no problem.

Good Book
This book follows the storyline from the comics, not the MCU movie, so if you've read those you know the overall story, if you're expecting MCU you're going to be surprised, hopefully pleasantly. It gets pretty intense and is definitely written for older readers because there are some pretty shocking deaths described throughout the story.I don't love the way it ends. I'm not going to spoil it on the off chance that you don't already know (the story is at least a decade old by now) but the ending cost it a star. The rest of the story is really good and very well told so it's still very much worth a read, but I would have preferred a different conclusion. No fault on the part of the author because he had to follow source material, and he did the best he could with what he had.

Interesting concept
We've all seen films based on books, and probably films based on Graphic Novels and comic book heroes (X-men, Spidermen, Superman......) but I have never before read a book based on a Graphic Novel like this.If you've read the Graphic Novel then you will know the story. If you haven't then let me summarise (without spoilers) for you - something bad happens and the US government bring in a law where anyone who has superhuman powers needs to be registered. Some like it, some don't (hence the title) and a typical action packed Marvel experience ensues.Prose is easier to read on a commuter train than a Graphic Novel, but it does lack the illustrations. If you like words and enjoy reading then this is definitely recommended. If your favourite part of Graphic Novels is the, ummmm, graphics then I would still recommend this so you can experience one of the best Marvel stories from a different perspective, but bear in mind there aren't any pictures....I liked it.
