I use the yellow optilux for every car i own as the DRL / High beams. Typically i use HID or LED low beam bulbs and most cars use the high beam at a lower wattage for daytime running lamps. Well to add some flaire i normally pick up a set of these optilux yellow bulbs to replace the standard ones. Not only do they look cool your also better seen in the daytime because the color temperature cuts through cloudy days unlike standard bulbs that blend in. This also applies to using them in country roads at night if there is actual fog your not blind like you would be with normal bulbs. Highly recommend these and this is probably the 12th pair ive ordered as all my family and friends keep asking where to get them so i order another set and put them in.

Installed these on a 2024 4Runner Limited in place of the factory DRL bulbs. Installation was straightforward, and the fit is similar to factory DRL bulbs. The factory DRL’s being just white halogen were not noticeable enough for me. I want my vehicle to be seen by other vehicles, which is the point of DRL’s. The light quality of the yellow bulbs draws attention without being overwhelming. At 65 watts, these are only 5 watts greater than the factory DRL’s so overheating should not be an issue. I achieved the look I was after without wiring modifications or significant expense. Time will determine the longevity of these bulbs, but Hella is a trusted name in automotive lighting so I would expect that they will last.

These bulbs add a greater margin of safety as they illuminate the roadway much better than the stock bulbs. The yellow tint is also better for casting out shadows and is easier seen by approaching traffic. My fog lights take the same type bulb and I will be replacing them as well. You can’t go wrong with Hella products

My particular vehicle uses the high beam bulbs for daytime running lights. I didn't want to use LEDs or HIDs since they're likely not designed to operate with a fraction of the power as a DRL and then far more power as a high beam. After trying a few of the "blueish white" lights on the market with little success, I decided to go yellow. These bulbs were well made, and I had no problems with fitment. My only single complaint is that the bulbs themselves look slightly green (they're visible when the car is off in the headlight housing). Minor gripe I know, but i'm being picky. I couldn't bring myself to spend 5x the price for the PIAAs, and these seemed like a decent alternative. Overall i'm happy with the purchase. They've been in the car for several months without problems, so for the price i'm not complaining.

Very bright, easy to install. These yellow bulbs help increase visibility in foggy conditions, confirmed fitment on 2004 Pontiac GTO.

These are cheap Korean knock offs and do not buy!! I bought these 9005 hella optilux back in 2019 and those lasted till 2024 which is very good. Ordered them in August of 2024 and had both go out already as of September 2025!! Unacceptable!! On further inspection with the other one that I bought in 2019 that’s still working these new ones are made in Korea and look totally different!! Not sure if manufacturer cheaper out but never buying these again! Look elsewhere!

Great color and when these (yellow and halogen) are used as the brights mixed with white LED low beams, phenomenal. But, one went out after 9 months. Pretty lame I'm contemplating on buying another pair in hopes of the last being a fluke, but idk yet. I'll stand by, though, on how well they pair with LED's

This is installed into a Subaru highbeam and DRL (50% power) mode. The yellow is the perfect color and almost like glowing gold. I think these lights run really well in high beam at night, in city you won't notice much but when it is pitch black out of city. The yellow brings some object up on the road, also depends on the car function; I can just turn off low beam and only run high beam. All you see is the golden lighting up your path - this is super useful in snowstorm and fog, I have also yellow foglight but they are way low on the ground at wide angle. Lifespan, I don't know but most of the daytime running light runs at 50% power. It should last very long. How often I am going to toggle highbeam all night long.
